Who will be rumbling around the 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway this Sunday trying to win the Great American Race? Meet the 43 starters for the Daytona 500 — and make sure to tune in to FOX this Sunday beginning at noon ET for live coverage from the World Center of Racing.

Patrick is turning heads with her Daytona 500 performance this season. She locked up the pole position in qualifying in only her second attempt at the race — and her first as a full-time Sprint Cup driver. Patrick raced in the event last season as part of a part-time schedule, finishing 38th.

Three-time Daytona 500 winner Jeff Gordon is also the all-time win leader in restrictor-plate races (12). Despite finishing 40th last year, he has five top-five and an additional three top-10 finishes in 20 career Daytona 500 starts.

Harvick has made 11 starts in the Daytona 500, including a race-winning effort in 2007. In that span, he also finished runner-up in 2009 and fourth twice (2003, '04). He has led a total of 61 laps in the "Great American Race."

Here's another talented driver who has been unable to capitalize in the premier event. Busch finished fourth in 2008 and was eighth in 2011, but he has generally struggled in this race. He has four finishes outside the top 20 in eight Daytona 500s.

Biffle has 10 career Daytona 500 starts, earning two top-five and three top-10 finishes. In 2012, he started second in the Daytona 500 and led the field eight different times for a combined total of 44 laps. In the end, he fell just short of winning, settling for a third-place finish.

Kahne has competed in nine Daytona 500s. He has a top finish of 25th in his last four. Prior to that, he finished seventh twice — in 2007-08 — and was 11th in 2006.

A three-time and defending winner of the famed Rolex 24 at Daytona, Montoya has made six starts in the Daytona 500 and has two top-10 results to his credit — including a personal best of sixth in 2011. His worst result came last year when he had the infamous accident with the jet dryer under caution (he would be credited with a 36th-place result).

Although this year's Daytona 500 marks Dillon's first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series attempt at Daytona, the Welcome, N.C., driver has a pair of top-five finishes at the 2.5-mile restrictor-plate track in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. He finished fifth in February 2012 and fourth in July 2012.

Johnson won the Daytona 500 in 2006, capping a solid streak of runs in the race. He was fifth in 2005, fifth in 2004, third in 2003 and 15th in his debut in 2002. Since his win, though, he has a top finish of 27th (twice) in the race.

Bowyer has a 12.0 average finish in seven starts — best among active drivers who have competed in more than one Daytona 500. His best finish in that span has been fourth (2009, '10).

The Furniture Row Racing driver has finished runner-up three times in the 500. His Daytona 500 record includes 12 starts, five top fives, six top 10s and 173 laps led.

Kenseth returns to the 2.5-mile superspeedway as the defending winner of this historic race. With two wins in the "Great American Race," Kenseth is one of only nine drivers in NASCAR history who have won this prestigious race more than once.

Stewart, surprisingly, is seeking his first victory in the "Great American Race." He's come close — he was the runner-up in 2004 and was third in 2008 — and has six top-10 finishes in the race. Still, it's proven an elusive crown for the three-time series champion.

Martin has made 27 starts in the Daytona 500 and has finished in the top 10 11 times. His top shot at winning the race came in 2007, when he finished second to Kevin Harvick in a race decided by inches. He has four top-five 500 finishes.

Keselowski had a fuel system issue in practice on Wednesday at Daytona. He has only three outings in the Daytona 500 — and has only finished the race once. Keselowski finished 36th in 2010 and has DNFs in his other two appearances.

Menard has five Daytona 500 runs — and top-10 finishes in his last two races. He was ninth in 2011 and sixth in 2012. Menard is not intimidated by premier events, either, earning his lone Cup win at the Brickyard.

Mears has only intermittently appeared in the race in recent years. He finished 25th last season, but his previous 500 run was a 15th place in 2009. Mears has a top Daytona 500 finish of second, which came in 2006.

In 19 starts at Daytona, Burton has four top-five finishes. He was second in the race in 2000, a career best, and third in 2007. He also finished fifth in 1996 and 2012.

Earnhardt has scored one win, five top-five finishes and seven top-10s in 13 Daytona 500 appearances. He went to Victory Lane in 2004 after leading 58 laps and defeating Tony Stewart by 0.273 seconds. Earnhardt has paced the field in nine events for a total of 153 laps. He has led at least one lap in four of his five Daytona 500 starts in the No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet.

McMurray has two wins at Daytona to his credit, including the Daytona 500 victory in 2010. Overall, he has an average finish of 24.0 at Daytona.

Logano has made four starts in the 500 — and has generally improved year to year. He finished 43rd in his first run, then 20th. He fell back a little to 23rd in 2011 but rallied to ninth in 2012.

Ragan didn't fare well in the 500 in 2012, finishing 43rd, but had finishes of 16th or better in 2011 and 2010. He did even better in 2009, finishing sixth and in 2007 was seventh in the race.

In 20 career Daytona 500 starts, the former Cup champion has experienced almost everything you can — he's come close (finishing second to Dale Earnhardt in 1998, fourth to Trevor Bayne in 2011), early heartbreak (completing just 14 laps in 2005 en route to finishing last) and everything in between. He's also driven five different makes in that span (Ford, Pontiac, Chevrolet, Dodge and Toyota).

Ambrose has raced in the 500 four times. He has a career-best finish of 13th in the race, which came last season. His other three finishes are 30th or worse.

Gilliland has run in the race four times, starting from the pole position in his 2007 debut at the track. He has a top finish of third in the 500, which came in 2011 and was his second top-10 finish at the track. He was eighth in 2007.

Almirola has limited experience in the "Great American Race," finishing 30th in the rain-shortened race of 2009 and 33rd last year.

Nemechek, a native of Lakeland, Fla., has made 17 career starts in the "Great American Race" and has two career top-10 results, including a best of sixth in 2004.

In his Daytona 500 debut last year, Stenhouse started 21st and finished 20th. He has six career Nationwide Series starts at the 2.5-mile track, earning two top-five and three top-10 finishes.

Waltrip has two Daytona 500 victories to his credit. He won the race in 2001 and 2003. He is driving for Swan Racing instead of his own team this year, raising awareness and funds for the Sandy Hook school.

Blaney has enjoyed some strong runs in the 500, including a 15th-place finish in the race last season and also in 2004. His career-best was a 14th-place finish in 2005.

The former Formula 1 driver has made just two previous starts in the "Great American Race," finishing a personal-best 19th in his second start in 2010.

Wise has raced in the Daytona 500 once, finishing 38th with a DNF last season.

The youngest Daytona 500 winner in history (he was 20 years and 1 day old when he won in 2011), Bayne has made just two starts in the "Great American Race" (he finished 35th last year).

Newman has a knack for winning at Daytona. Before joining the Sprint Cup ranks full-time, Newman earned his first win at Daytona in the ARCA Series in 2001. In 2004, he scored his only IROC victory at Daytona. And in 2008, he took the lead on the backstretch during the final lap of the sport's biggest race and never looked back, winning the 50th Daytona 500.

Hamlin is making his eighth start in the Daytona 500 on Sunday at the "World Center of Racing." The 32-year-old Virginia native recorded his best-career 500 finish last year (fourth).

Edwards will make his ninth start in the Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 24th. Last year, Edwards swept the pole in the famed event, moving on to an eighth-place finish. His best finish is second place, captured in the 2011 Daytona 500.

Truex has eight starts in the Daytona 500. He has just one top 10 in that stretch, though, which came in 2010 when he finished sixth.

A former podium finisher in the Rolex 24 at Daytona (which is run on the road course of the track) in 2012, McDowell has made two starts in the "Great American Race" but has finished 30th or worse in each start and has been unable to finish on the lead lap.

Labonte leads all active drivers with six top-five and 12 top-10 Daytona 500 finishes. He is also tied for the active lead for most runner-up finishes with three.

Smith has five Daytona 500 starts — and a top finish of seventh in 2001. It's his only finish inside the top 20 in the race, though.

Yeley has a top finish of 12th in the Daytona 500, which came in 2007. He's run in the race four times and was 43rd in his last 500, which came in 2011.

Reutimann, a native of Zephyrhills, Fla., has one top-five finish in six career Daytona 500 starts.

Kvapil has made six starts in the Daytona 500, with his first coming in 2005. He has a best finish of 19th ('05) and has failed to finish on the lead lap in his last three outings (2009, '10, '11).
