News: Hamlin finished sixth in the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway Sunday afternoon. Impact: Hamlin didn't show the speed that he had in the prior super speedway races, but the No. 11 Toyota was still pretty strong. Hamlin raced in the Top 10 and played track position all afternoon as most of the drivers did with weather threatening. The Joe Gibbs Racing star came through the second major wreck of the day with only minor damage and was able to forge a strong Top-10 finish when NASCAR called it a race at lap 112. It was Hamlin's sixth Top 10 of the season and he moved up three spots to 14th-place in the championship standings.(RotoWire, )

News: Hamlin finished 42nd after losing a right-front tire and crashing in the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway Saturday night. Impact: The tough season continued for the Joe Gibbs Racing star. Hamlin started in the Top 10 and things looked promising early. However, as the race reached the scheduled competition caution Hamlin's front right tire expired. The No. 11 Toyota slammed the outside wall, shaking up the veteran driver. The damage was terminal and Hamlin retired to the garage for the night finishing 239 laps down. The DNF was his first of the season, and Hamlin dropped four spots to 17th-place in the championship standings.(RotoWire, )
