News: Kenseth finished fourth in the Bojangles' Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway Saturday night. Impact: Each week the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing team gets better and better. Kenseth led 12 laps in the Southern 500 and he battled it out among the leaders for most of the event. On the final restart he was in the mix for the victory, but just had too much traffic to deal with. Kenseth claimed his second Top-5 finish of the season and extended his current Top-10 streak to four races heading into the off-week. The veteran driver remains second in the championship standings at 1 point behind leader Jeff Gordon.(RotoWire, )

News: Kenseth finished seventh in the Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway Monday afternoon. Impact: It was an uneventful afternoon for the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 20 team, but resulted in a Top-10 finish none-the-less. News: Kenseth is one of 12 drivers being penalized practice time this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway for infractions at Martinsville Speedway last week, reports. Impact: The No. 20 JGR team and a host of other teams were late to qualifying inspection last weekend at Martinsville. Kenseth and the rest are being docked 15 minutes of practice time at Texas this week. While this isn't a major penalty and shouldn't have any impact on Kenseth's time to prepare his car at Texas, it does send the message that NASCAR will not tolerate tardiness for inspection.(RotoWire, )
