After hitting a low point Sunday, Martin Truex Jr. and his crew chief Kevin Manion have been hit with a penalty.

NASCAR docked the No. 1 Earnhardt Ganassi Racing team 50 points in the driver and owner standings after the team was found to be too low during postrace inspection at Texas Motor Speedway. As a result, Truex drops from 24th to 26th in the championship.

Manion was fined $50,000 and remains on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31, 2009.

Truex finished 14th in Sunday's Dickies 500 at TMS.
