Cory Kruseman scored a runner-up finish for Mopar and Tony Stewart Racing Enterprises Friday in USAC National Sprint competition at Memphis Motorsports Park. "The Kruser" picked up a win in the third heat race to earn a place in the A-main.
Jay Drake turned in a solid performance in his No. 20 Mopar from Tony Stewart's team at the "Big M Motorfest" in Memphis. In the A-main feature, Drake was clipped by another car during a caution period but was still able to drive his ailing machine home to a 10th place feature event finish. Drake continues to lead the USAC National Sprint point standings, thanks to two victories and three top-five finishes so far. Kruseman gained three positions in the points, moving up to fourth in the championship hunt.
Kruseman and Drake will be back in action with the USAC National Sprint Car Series on May 22 at the Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track in the "Tony Hulman Classic."
