Quote Log -- Lasoski
On earning three straight wins after going 27 races into the season without a victory:"It was great to finally get the monkey of our back. For a while there I wasn't sure we were ever going to get back to victory lane. We'd been able to lead races and run second, but it seemed like we just couldn't ever get the job done. Getting that first win took a huge load off our shoulders, and I just think it helped relax everyone on this J.D. Byrider/Home Depot/Mopar team. I don't want to say that getting that first win made our next two wins any easier, because nothing is easy in this sport, but it certainly gave us a confidence booster as we head into this tough, summer stretch of races. Steve's (Kinser) got a big jump on us in the points, but we have to keep plugging away. I have to thank Jimmy Carr, Todd Splain, Richie Wagner and our motor builder Paul Kistler, because they don't ever give up, and I feel like I've let them down a couple of times this year. But this is a great race team, and I'm glad we were finally able to give our car owner Tony Stewart a couple of wins this year. This season is still young and we feel like we've got some more wins to come."
Quote Log -- Stewart
On Lasoski's three straight wins:"It's been a running joke with our #20 Home Depot Racing Team that Danny had won more stock car races than I had and that I had won more sprint car races than he had. Well, now he has more sprint car wins and he's still one up on me in stock cars. I'm very proud of him and the team. I know this year hasn't been an easy one, but they've kept their cool and now they've got their wins to show for it. You know, I wish there were 700 days in a calendar year instead of 365. That way I could go be with those guys at those races and still do my job here."
(Lasoski's stock car win came in this year's IROC Series, where he won round two of the four-race series at Texas in April. Stewart's two sprint car wins this year have come at Sedalia's (Mo.) State Fair Speedway, where in a car prepared by Lasoski, Stewart has won the Winged Sprint Car feature during the Winged Outlaw Warrior-sanctioned events held April 16 and May 7. Ed.)
