Jay Drake became the first driver in USAC Silver Crown history to win three straight pavement races, as he drove the No. 11 Mopar from Stewart-Snider Motorsports to victory Thursday in the J.D. Byrider 100 at Indianapolis Raceway Park, his first win at the historic track.

Drake started the race from the front row after recording the fastest time during qualifying. When the green flag dropped, Drake took the lead and never relinquished it during the 100-lap event. The team's efforts moved them up to fifth place in the USAC Silver Crown Series point standings.

"I finally got the monkey off my back," Drake said. "I'm pretty happy. If I'd just won the pole and went home I'd probably be happy! I'd only won two of the Silver Crown races before this year and now we've won three in a row! That's pretty good!"

J.J. Yeley also competed for Stewart-Snider Motorsports in the event, qualifying in the 29th position. Yeley finished seventh in the non-qualifiers race and was unable to transfer into the feature event.

Dave Steele and the No. 2 Mopar entry from Nicholas Motorsports grabbed the quick time award and a second place feature event finish in USAC National Midget Series competition at the Indianapolis Speedrome. Wilke-PAK Motorsports' Tracy Hines earned a sixth-place finish with the No. 11 Mopar, while Tony Stewart Racing Enterprises' Josh Wise was credited with 20th position in the feature.

Team Mopar is well represented in the USAC National Midget Series points race, with four of the top-10 positions covered by Mopar drivers. Wise is currently in second place, followed by Wilke-PAK's Davey Ray in third, Teddy Beach in fourth, and Steele in 10th.

The USAC National Midget Car Series will return to action on August 14 at Salem Speedway. The USAC Silver Crown Series moves on to the Illinois State Fairgrounds for its next event on August 21.
