Saturday night's finale victory was Lasoski's second in as many days, as he also won Friday night's preliminary event. Lasoski drove from his 20th-place starting position through the field to capture the win. The No. 20 machine assumed the lead on lap 14 of the 25-lap A-main event, then locked the team into Saturday night's A-main finale by earning the win.
"I need to thank my car owner, Tony Stewart for securing the deal with Johnny Morris of Bass Pro Shops for a five-year sponsorship. We are certainly going to put forth the effort needed to give Bass maximum exposure to a new audience during our time together," Lasoski said. "We are also pleased to say that J.D. Byrider and Mopar are on board with us again."
Lasoski, who celebrated a birthday on February 3, also earned a top-five and top-10 finish during preliminary action for the race. "The Dude" kicked off the event with an eighth-place finish on February 2 and followed it up with a solid third-place finish on February 3.
"I was just going where the lapped cars weren't," Lasoski said. "Without the help of Johnny Morris who heads up the Bass Pro Shop deal, Mopar, J.D. Byrider, Wirtgen and Hoosier, we wouldn't be here."
Lasoski and the World of Outlaws Sprint Series will officially kick off the 2005 racing season this coming weekend at Volusia Speedway on February 11 and 13. The No. 20 team will also compete in several events sanctioned by the All Star Circuit of Champions this week at Volusia Speedway. Lasoski is slated to compete February 8-13 at the Barberville, Fla., facility.
