Before the last pit stop of the race, crew chief Doug Richert and Greg Biffle discussed two tires vs. four tires. Richert felt like Jimmie Johnson would take two tires. Biffle said, "I don't care. I want four tires on this racecar." They changed four tires and made no other adjustments.

Biffle said when he dropped the hammer on the field, it was going to be a sledgehammer. Before the race, Darrell Waltrip talked about the drivers wanting smaller spoilers and softer tires last year.

On Sunday morning, Richert told me the rule change has played into their hands. It has been the single biggest improvement for the race team because some drivers get uncomfortable driving the cars when they dance around, but Biffle loves it.

During the sixth caution at lap 208, Greg Biffle elected to take four tires and no other adjustment. Biffle's crew had a little bit of a slow stop, but Biffle was able to fight his way back up to the front.

The fourth caution flag at lap 118 was a big break for Greg Biffle. He said his car was so tight that it would not turn. He was afraid of blowing a tire so they made some pretty aggressive adjustments. They pulled a spring rubber out of the left rear spring and made air pressure adjustments.

At lap 81, Biffle said his car was very tight. They had already adjusted the track bar by raising it, and they took one round of wedge out of the left rear. Richert told his driver, "You keep driving, and we're going to keep adjusting on that car until there are no adjustments to be made."

Greg Biffle's racecar is sponsored by the National Guard, and Biffle had a picture of a young man named Ryan Doltz, a National Guard soldier, who was killed in Iraq exactly one year ago Sunday. It was taped to the roll bar of his racecar.

Steve Byrnes: Greg, now early in this race, I heard you say that your car was really loose, but you guys got it fixed up.

Greg Biffle: Yeah, we did. I tell you what. I'm so excited to win here in Dover (with) all the soldiers I met this weekend. I'm going to give the trophy to a soldier that's here this weekend. (He) lost his leg in Iraq, and he's up here from Walter Reed Hospital. He's around here somewhere. I can't wait to celebrate with him. There's a lot of guys that lost over there, and we appreciate everything the National Guard and everybody does for us. Ryan Doltz...

Steve Byrnes: You had his picture on the roll bar.

Greg Biffle: We had his picture. He died a year ago today in Iraq, serving our country, and we're thinking about him. We lost the track owner this year that owns Dover (International) Speedway (Melvin Joseph). He's done a lot for our sport. But these guys just did a great job today. Our racecar was perfect. It was terrible at the beginning but then perfect once we got all of the adjustments made. But these guys just did a great job. I feel bad for the fab shop. They're probably going to scold me for backing it into the fence on a burnout, but I was so excited. I didn't care.

Steve Byrnes: Greg, this is a track where you haven't had a lot of success. I talked to Doug Richert this morning, and he said this year you are driving like a champion. What does that mean to you?

Greg Biffle: It means a lot to me. Doug and this team are working on this car like a champion. They're doing the best they can, and they're giving 100 percent every day, every week working on these racecars. I'm just excited about it. I'm going to Pocono with the car I won Texas and California with next week, and hopefully we'll win there.
