Joey Saldana and the No. 9 Kasey Kahne Racing team also put together a strong run over the weekend. The team earned an 11th-place finish at U.S. 36 Raceway on Friday night before heading to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday. Taking advantage of another night of Knoxville Nationals tuning, the No. 9 team won the third heat race en route to an eighth-place finish on Saturday. At Huset's Speedway on Sunday, Saldana and company posted their best finish of the weekend, taking the checkered flag in fourth place. The No. 9 team is currently ranked fourth in the World of Outlaws Sprint Series point standings.
The No. 5 Forbrook Motorsports team was also in action, as Tyler Walker piloted the car in the absence of Sammy Swindell, who had prior commitments for the weekend. Walker drove to a 24th-place finish at U.S. 36 Raceway on Friday night and followed that run up with a strong seventh-place finish at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday. Getting back into the groove of open wheel racing, Walker set quick time and drove to a third place finish at Huset's Speedway to wrap up the weekend.
McMahan and the National Sprint Tour Series will return to action on May 13 at Tri-State (Okla.) Speedway. Saldana and the World of Outlaws Sprint Series will head to Attica Raceway Park on May 12 and K-C Raceway on May 13.
