NASCAR's Car of Tomorrow is scheduled to make its debut in the fifth Nextel Cup race of the year at Bristol Motor Speedway, March 25 on FOX. The NASCAR on FOX crew gives you a video tour of the car, and check out photos of the Car of Tomorrow compared with the Car of Today.

  • Grill: More closely-matched grill area among manufacturers.
    (Most cooling air will enter through space below the bumper.)
  • Headlights: Straighter to match production vehicle (Less aerodynamic)
  • Splitter: The flat section at the bottom of the nose can be adjusted to give the driver a loose or tight setup.
  • Windshield: Angle more upright and more closely matches 2007 street cars

  • Spoiler: New rear spoiler, complete with a wing, creates more downforce
  • Side pods: Crews can change these posts to make cars more stable in the draft and hook up better off of the corners.
  • Crush zones: Reduce "G"-forces spike in back, bumpers and sides
  • Fuel cell: Less volume (17 1/2 gallons vs. 22) and stronger container

  • Driver's seat: Moved four inches to the right
  • Driveshaft tunnel: Fully enclosed
  • Roll cage: Two inches taller, four inches wider and three inches to the rear.
  • Left-side door bars: Covered with steel plate and configured for impact reduction
