David Reutimann had a very hard crash into the wall during Sunday's Auto Club 500 in Fontana. It was Greg Biffle's No. 16 Ameriquest Ford Fusion that knocked Reutimann off course. While talking to Steve Czaban today, Greg had no problem admitting his part...

  • Greg Biffle: It was my fault 100 percent there at the end of the race.
Steve Czaban: Don't admit that. We have to go to court first on this. Never admit total blame, Greg. Greg Biffle: No. It was not intentional by any means. I was trying any way possible to get underneath David there to try and get that position. He was two laps down, and I was trying to race Joe Nemechek and Ryan Newman in front of him for position. We were about 12 laps to go.

And Greg went on to explain what happened to David's car when he tried to pass...

"I could get just about five feet from him. I could get him to slide up the race track a little bit. But I couldn't get underneath him at that point. So I got my two tires down on the apron, getting into Turn 3 and rolled right up to him. I think he got a little bit loose and may have come off the gas, or got on the brake pedal to correct it. And I just barely touched him in the left rear corner, which obviously resulted in a big crash for him. Looked like he turned a lot of the wheel to the right and ended up going straight in the fence. In any event, it certainly wasn't what I meant to do, and it was unfortunate."

And Steve was curious to know what you do after a race when you come across a guy that you wrecked...

"I saw him in the motorhome lot after the race. I just told him that certainly I didn't mean to get in the back of him. It was a racing deal. And he knew that I didn't mean to do it, and [that] it was a racing deal."

The First Team on FOX is heard all over the country from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Eastern Time. The show is carried on over 120 affiliates on the FOX Sports Radio Network. Steve Czaban, a 15 year radio veteran, along with co-host Scott Linn, bring a unique, sarcastic and amusing perspective to the daily issues that litter the sports and entertainment landscape.
