Jeff Burton on Kyle Busch and his Cingular/AT&T sponsor

Jeff Burton: "If he knew that they were gonna get the car back out, he wouldn't have left. But you've gotta go the extra mile. When you get in that situation, you've gotta go the extra mile to make sure they're not gonna get that car out. Because the team, think about that, that team, think how hard they worked to get that car back out. And then [for] the driver not to be there. That's not a good thing at all."
Then Craig asked Jeff about the dispute between NASCAR and his Cingular sponsor...
Jeff Burton: "Cingular was AT&T's wireless carrier essentially. And they decided to change the name from Cingular to AT&T. Same service, same people, same stores, new name. Nextel and NASCAR have said that if you change the name, that prohibits you from being involved in the series because of Nextel. Cingular says, 'No, that's not the way it was explained to us when this all first went down.' It's essentially going to court here in a couple weeks for the courts to make a decision on whether Cingular can change the name to AT&T or not. Little bit complicated. Well, it's actually a lot complicated.
"It's why we have a court system. It's not like there's one side that's just completely stupid, and the other side is 100 percent [right]. It's one of those cases that's very, very interesting. Obviously AT&T and Cingular feel like they have every right to be in the sport, and we want 'em to be in the sport. They've been an incredible supporter. We want 'em to be in the sport, and they're gonna work diligently to make sure they are."
