Pruett replaces Sorenson at Sonoma

Multiple calls to Ganassi Racing representatives went unanswered Tuesday afternoon, but Pruett's stint is presumed to be a one-race deal.
Collectively, the Ganassi organization has had a flurry of changes and misfortune this season. In April, long-time crew chief Jimmy Elledge was moved from the No. 41 to the No. 42 driven by Juan Pablo Montoya. In turn, Donnie Wingo transitioned to the Sorenson entry. Following the All-Star Race at Lowe's Motor Speedway in May, Elledge was released by the company. Rookie Dario Franchitti also has struggled in the No. 40 and missed five races because of a broken ankle.
No stranger to road racing, Pruett currently leads the Rolex Sports Car Series point standings with teammate Memo Rojas. Pruett has 18 Rolex series wins. His best finish in the Cup Series was a second place finish at the circuit's other road course in Watkins Glen in 2003. He has made six starts at Infineon with a best finish of third in 2004.
