Worth a thousand words:
Multiple sources have confirmed that after 60 seasons of stock car racing and 10 championships, America's first family of stock car racing will shut its doors and merge with the team currently known as Gillett Evernham Motorsports.
A deal was inked between Petty Enterprises and team owner George Gillett on Christmas Eve, but the terms of that agreement have yet to be divulged. A formal announcement is expected early next week.
The venerable No. 43 Dodge covered with the trademarked Petty blue glaze will become part of the Gillett stable with Reed Sorenson expected to be behind the wheel. Bobby Labonte, who finished 21st in the point standings, parted ways with the Pettys on Dec. 11 following a three-year stint in the No. 43 car.
Most of the remaining 39 employees at Petty Enterprises will conclude their duties at the Mooresville-based shop on Wednesday. The company moved from its original shop adjacent to the Petty homestead in Level Cross, N.C., in January to what was formerly the Yates Racing complex.
Robbie Loomis, Petty Executive VP of Racing Operations, is expected to assume a managerial role under the new partnership, which will likely be rebranded under the Petty banner. Former car chief Ray Fox Jr. will assume a similar role at JTG-Daugherty Racing with the No. 47 team.
David Zucker, who was named CEO of the team when private equity firm Boston Ventures purchased controlling interest in June, is expected to be reassigned to the Petty Driving Experience.

of course matt has had issues with edwards, stewart and gordon...and when matt did the wrecking it was done in retaliation...not on purpose which has been done to him by edwards, stewart and gordon. and once again matt is not the only driver to have "issues" with those listed above.

It is Carl Edwards , Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon that have issues with Kenseth, not the other way around. I remember seeing Kenseth driver Tony Stewart so dirty at the 2007 Daytona 500 that Tony ran Kenseth right off the track. Maybe Kenseth is your driver but he's had issues with too many top guys for it to be a conincidence. Kenseth has some real problems.

yes play well...meaning get along with others on and off the track...not act like a bully. kenseth and harvick aren't the only drivers to have issues with him.

because matt is a champion...listed 1st no matter what...carl is last because he doesn't play well with others...until he learns how to play well then he may move up the chart...but until then he's 5th on the list.

your depth chart for roush fenway racing is all goofed up...let me fix it for you.

1.matt kenseth
2.greg biffle
3.david ragan
4.jamie mcmurray
5.carl edwards

carl could move up on the chart if he learns to play well with others...but sad to say we will be saying goodbye to jamie mcmurray...could be carl depending on the outcome of the drug test...if that comes back positive then say buh bye to carl.

everyone is just chasing kenseth, he wins with more style and pride than anyone. you never hear of him at the track unless he is making a move. the silent contender will always be the truly last winston cup champion.

look at the embarrassment carl did to roush..win all those races and can't complete the task of winning a championship...biffle will win one before carl.

I guess that's why they jus re-signed him to a new multiyear deal, he is the only champion on the team and has something you obviously know nothing about (caseyanthony) and that's class

Of Jack's 5 drivers, Kenseth is clearly the weakest link in the chain. Jaime came on strong in the 2nd half of the year and Davey Ragan is clearly the next Roush-Fenway superstar.

Kenseth has always been soft and weak. Look how Carl intimidated him with the SUCKER PUNCH at Martinsville and how Gordon almost killed him with that viscious chest shot at Bristol!

Kenseth Whining? You obviously arent watching the same race's I am. You have never heard him complain about ANYTHING but maybe himself!!Kenseth is far from the weak link at RFR. There are only 2 drivers to make every chase and thats the 48 and the 17,It's not a fluke when you beat them at their own game. nuff said.

Any who has followed Nascar for more than the last 15 yrs could see this coming.
As soon as R. Hendrick started spending 100 times more than he could ever hope to win back, it was over.
Slowly but surly Nascar turned it's back on it's roots. Closed tracks that offered good racing, N. Wilksboro to name 1, and moved to snorefests like Vegas and California. Prices rose and drove away long time fans and made room for fair-weathered fans who became infatuated with speed and could care less about real racing.
I attended races and followed Nascar as long as i could. As soon as Brian France started promoting the races as if they were some sort of WWF event i had enough. It had to be embarressing to the old timers to be involved with the circus that Nascar has become.CoT? What a joke.
I attended my first race in 1979 and could see this coming around 1999.
So go ahead Nascar, blame the economy or whatever else it is they are blaming.
Nascar is done.Last 1 out , turn the lights off. Brain France won't be able to. He's having dinner with Vince McMahon.

Meanwhile, Carl and Greg just get on with it an win races or work to improve the team like Jaime and David.

Kenseth gotta go! Kenseth is the weak link at RFR, When Jack goes to 4 cars Kenseth gotta go!

And when kenseth opens his big mouth, he talks so fast that he sounds like he is hyped up on meth.

Then, when we can understand what the hell kenseth is talking about it all crying that he doesn't have Rieser, or the car is no good, or Roush doesn't give him good cars.....bla, bla, bla

Another great video of kenseth getting slamed is Jeff Gordon getting out of his car, kenseth beggin for mercy, Jeff slams kenseth so hard in the chest that kenseth's false teeth get knocked out!
