1 minute, 17.962 seconds. He easily topped Jason Bowles and Eric Holmes.
Inglebright, who took third in the race last year, clocked in at 1:20.109.
l NASCAR Sprint Cup rookie Joey Logano is doing double duty this weekend. Friday he qualified fourth for today's West Series race, then rushed over to the paddock ride to qualify for Sunday's main event. He put the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 20 Home Depot Toyota 12th on the grid for the Toyota/Save Mart 350.
l Hershel McGriff failed to qualify for today's race. The 81-year-old was almost seven seconds off the pace. Don't expect this to be the NASCAR legend's last comeback effort. He also plans to compete at two other road courses when the West Series stops in Portland and Tooele, Utah, later this year.
l Vallejo's Phil Joy qualified 10th in the Legends Series' Masters division. Joy completed his best lap in
1 minute, 33.162 seconds.
l Infineon Raceway will honor four fallen officers from the Oakland Police Department with a very special tribute. Four motorcycle units from the Oakland Police Department will lead the
43-car field around the
10-turn, 1.99-mile road course prior to the start of the
Toyota/Save Mart 350 on
Sunday.
The police department's Davina Kelly will also sing the national anthem on Sunday. Finally, the Oakland Police Department will have a booth in the main paddock over the weekend, with all donations going to the families of the four fallen officers.
"This tragedy touched all of us in Northern California. We are honored to offer this tribute to the four officers and I'm sure its meaning will be shared by everyone at the raceway on Sunday," said Steve Page, president and general manager of Infineon Raceway.
The four officers who lost their lives in the line of duty in March were: Sgts. Ervin Romans, Daniel Sakai and Mark Dunakin and Officer John Hege.
l Vallejo's Jeff Gordon is the only driver to win five NASCAR races at Infineon Raceway (1998 - 2000, '04, '06). There have been four two-time winners: Ernie Irvan, ('92, '94), Ricky Rudd ('89, '02), Tony Stewart ('01, '05) and Rusty Wallace ('90, '96).
l Gordon holds the record for the most poles at Infineon Raceway with five ('98, '99, '01, '04, '05).
l Gordon is the top money winner with $2,161,600, competing in 16 of 20 NASCAR events at Infineon. He leads second-place earner, Tony Stewart, by nearly $800,000.
l A total of 12 different drivers have tasted victory on the Infineon Raceway road course: Ricky Rudd ('89, '02), Rusty Wallace ('90, '96), Davey Allison ('91), Ernie Irvan ('92, '94), Geoffrey Bodine ('93), Dale Earnhardt ('95), Mark Martin ('97), Jeff Gordon ('98-'00, '04, '06), Tony Stewart ('01, '05), Robby Gordon ('03), Juan Pablo Montoya ('07) and Kyle Busch ('08)
l The largest margin of
victory at Infineon Raceway belongs to Ernie Irvan (1994) by 9.56 seconds.
l Ernie Irvan (1994), Mark Martin (1997) and Jeff Gordon (1998, '99 and 2004) are the only drivers to win a race starting from the pole.
l Kyle Busch's 2008 victory marked Toyota's first-ever win at Infineon Raceway. Juan Pablo Montoya's 2007 win earned Dodge its only NASCAR victory at Infineon.
l Martin holds the record for the most top-10 finishes at Infineon Raceway at 13, including one win (1997).
l Kasey Kahne posted Dodge's first-ever pole in Sonoma in 2008 with a 92.153-mph lap.
