News: Gordon (knee) may come off the bench next season in order for Tyreke Evans to remain in the starting five, the Pelicans' official site reports. During Thursday's set of exit interviews, coach Monty Williams confirmed the sentiment, stating, "It's a valid question." Impact: What was eventually a season-ending knee injury for Gordon was a boon for Evans' prospects, allowing him to reestablish his ability when taking on a large portion of the ballhandling. Meanwhile, Gordon, who has started all but two of 115 appearances since joining the former Hornets prior to the lockout-shortened campaign in December of 2011, could incur a further hit to his waning relevance. On the other hand, he knocked down a career-high 39.1 percent from beyond the arc this season, with an increase in wide-open looks likely from the outside as Anthony Davis continues his development into a basketball monster. If the 25-year-old sharpshooter accepts a specific gig, New Orleans' bench would certainly profit from the viable and varied scoring option that is Gordon.(RotoWire, )

News: Gordon (knee) will have arthroscopic surgery performed on his left knee next week, which will bring his season to a close. Impact: In what was his healthiest season since his rookie campaign in 2008-09, Gordon played in 64 of the Pelicans' first 68 contests, getting the nod at two-guard in each one. His output was modest -- 15.4 points (on 43.6 percent shooting), 3.3 assists, 2.6 rebounds, 1.6 treys, and 1.2 steals in 32.1 minutes per game -- but tendinitis in his left knee befell him on Mar. 21, marking his final appearance of the season. Barring any setbacks with his upcoming recovery, expect him to enter 2013-14 with full health, with the caveat that unfortunate injury luck eventually catches up with him.(RotoWire, )

News: Gordon (knee) will not play Wednesday versus the Suns. Impact: Gordon continues to deal with left knee tendonitis and will sit out for the tenth consecutive game. With the Pelicans out of playoff contention, it's quite possible the team could opt to shut Gordon down for the remaining four games on the schedule, though an official decision has not been made.(RotoWire, )
