| News: Dragic will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, but the Rockets are hopeful they can re-sign him, the Houston Chronicle reports.

Impact: Dragic took over the starting point guard duties when Kyle Lowry was sidelined with a bacterial infection, and he kept the job when Lowry returned at the end of the season. As the team's roster is currently constructed, it's unlikely the Rockets would consider starting Lowry and Dragic in the backcourt together. From a simplistic view of things, it would seem Dragic will end up signing with another team to serve as their starting point guard; however, Lowry's recent comments about a divide between him and coach Kevin McHale may lead to the team pursuing a trade of Lowry and a concerted effort to re-sign Dragic. This situation is up in the air, but it appears the wrinkles will result in Dragic and Lowry not being teammates next season, which should mean that both players are great targets in drafts. | |
