News: Sanders (eye) had an extremely disappointing 2013-14 season marred by injuries and off-the-court issues. Impact: The big man's struggles this season were well-chronicled, beginning with the nightclub incident in November that left him with a torn ligament in his thumb. The injury kept Sanders out of the lineup for nearly two months. Upon his return, he initially struggled to find his bearings, but had seemingly returned to form just before the All-Star break, averaging 13.4 points, 10.4 and 2.0 blocks over a five-game stretch. Four minutes into a Feb. 8 loss to the Rockets, however, Sanders took an elbow from Houston's James Harden and collapsed to the floor. Diagnosed with a broken orbital bone in his face, Sanders was ruled out for the remainder of the season. But that didn't stop him from making headlines. On April 4, the NBA announced Sanders had violated the league's Anti-Drug policy and he was issued a five-game suspension, which he served over the team's final five contests. As he begins his four-year, $44 million extension next season, Sanders will look to rebound from a disastrous 2013-14 campaign and prove once again that he's one of the league's top rim protectors.(RotoWire, )

News: Sanders (eye) will serve his league-issued five-game suspension over the Bucks' final five contests of the 2013-14 season, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Impact: Sanders was suspended last week for violating the NBA's substance abuse policy and was expected to begin serving the five-game ban at the start of next season. It appears that won't be the case, however, as the Bucks activated Sanders in order to allow him to serve the suspension over the team's final five games. He'll look to start fresh in 2014-15 after a frustrating 2013-14 campaign marred by injuries and off-the-court issues.(RotoWire, )

News: Sanders will be suspended without pay for five games when he returns from injury for violating the NBA's drug policy. Impact: Sanders said in a statement released by the team Friday that he was penalized for using marijuana, his latest setback since signing a four-year extension worth about $44 million in the offseason. The 6-foot-11 Sanders is out for the season. He was injured Feb. 8 when Houston's James Harden elbowed him in the eye while the two were going for a rebound. He had surgery for a fractured right orbital bone.(STATS, 2:58pm)
