Eye injury sidelines Suns' Stoudemire

Center-forward Amare Stoudemire of the Phoenix Suns may miss two weeks or more of practice because of a torn iris in his right eye, The Arizona Republic reported Friday.
Stoudemire, 25, cannot exercise for the next 5-10 days.
"I can't get my heart rate up because my blood pressure rises and it goes to my eye," he told the paper. "I don't want that or the eye will bleed."
Stoudemire, who was poked in the eye during a scrimmage Wednesday night, said he probably will wear protective goggles for the rest of his career.
"I don't want that to happen again," he said.
The seventh-year pro averaged 25.2 points and 9.1 rebounds in 79 games last season. He has career averages of 21.0 points and 9.1 rebounds since being taken by the Suns with the ninth overall pick in 2002.
