Dixon, a 6-foot-10, 215-pound forward, averaged 15.3 points and eight rebounds at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College last season and chose the Hilltoppers over Seton Hall and Missouri. Western Kentucky coach Ken McDonald coached Durant as an assistant at Texas in 2007 and developed a relationship with the family while in Austin.

"They are the greatest parents you could ask for," McDonald told the Louisville Courier-Journal. "The fact that we did right by Kevin, there is a trust level there. We were serious about Kevin getting his education. Kevin is still working toward his degree...That's what (Dixon) is signing up to be a part of. The family understands that."

Dixon attended several Thunder home games this season, sitting courtside with other members of Durant's family across from the Thunder's bench.

MASON, LONG TO SPEAK IN CHAMPIONS OF YOUTH GALA

Desmond Mason will be the keynote speaker at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County's Champions of Youth Gala on Thursday at 7 p.m. Thunder television analyst Grant Long will emcee the event. The event will be at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum and will include dinner and a silent auction.

Thunder LAUNCHES NEW WEB SITE

The Thunder launched a revamped Web site last week designed to increase content and multimedia elements.

"We are thrilled the Thunder Web team, in conjunction with the NBA, produced an improved, content-rich site to create more avenues for our fans to follow the team off the court," said Thunder vice president of corporate communications Dan Mahoney. "We intend for this site to enhance the overall Thunder Basketball experience for fans everywhere."
