Rasheed Wallace may be joining Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen in Boston.

The Celtics offered the mercurial but talented free agent a contract using the mid-level exception Thursday, according to the Boston Globe.

All three of Boston's stars traveled to Detroit to meet with Wallace, as did Celtics coach Doc Rivers, president Danny Ainge and managing partner Wyc Grousbeck.

Wallace, 34, spent the past six seasons with the Pistons, helping them win a title in 2003. The power forward averaged 12.1 points and 7.4 rebounds last season.

Despite his age and penchant for technical fouls, Wallace is a wanted man in the free-agent market. He is expected to draw interest from other contenders, including the Spurs, Magic and Cavaliers.
