Iverson offered indoor soccer deal

Former NBA MVP Allen Iverson has been offered an unusual but lucrative deal to play indoor soccer with New York state's Rochester Lancers.
The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) team said it is offering Iverson $20,000 a game with a $5,000 bonus for every goal he scores, plus win and merchandise bonuses. More than 12 goals per game are scored on average in the league.
"Allen Iverson is one of the premier athletes of our time," said Lancers vice president Rich Randall.
"With his athleticism and competitive hunger, I think he can be a great fit with our team and fans as we make an important playoff push, while also driving interest to an exciting, growing sport."
The Lancers only have two regular season games left before the playoffs.
A CBS News report last week suggested the former longtime 76er may be broke, despite earning about $154 million in NBA salary during his career.
Late last month, a judge in Georgia ordered Iverson to pay a debt of $860,000 to an Atlanta jeweler. But the 36-year-old reportedly did not have the money, so the judge ordered his bank accounts commandeered and his earnings garnished.
