Report: Stoudemire tells Melo, Parker to join him with Knicks

Free agent Amar'e Stoudemire said Saturday he wants big-name players Carmelo Anthony and Tony Parker to join him with the Knicks, the New York Daily News reported.
Stoudemire, who won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in 2003, opted out of his contract with the Phoenix Suns last week and is being pursued by the Knicks.
After taking in the Broadway play "Rock of Ages" on Saturday -- where two reporters who sneaked in were ejected by police -- he told the newspaper the two other NBA superstars were ready to join him in New York should he sign with the Knicks.
LeBron James is one of many free agents making important decisions.

"I've talked to Carmelo Anthony that he needs to come out here," Stoudemire said. "I've talked to Tony Parker. Both guys are ready to join me if I decide to come here. So we will see if we can work it out."
Denver Nuggets forward Anthony and Parker, who plays for the San Antonio Spurs, will both be free agents at the end of the 2010-11 NBA season.
Stoudemire also indicated he would love to take to the court alongside the NBA's most-wanted free agent LeBron James.
Asked about playing with James, he said, "That would be great."
Stoudemire's agent, Happy Walters, said he was hopeful his client would be a Knick after a meeting with the team, scheduled for Monday.
"Yes, I mean, we are here, aren't we? Hopefully, it goes well on Monday," Walters said.
