Talks heating up to send 'Melo to Knicks

The Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks are discussing a three-team trade involving the Minnesota Timberwolves to make real Carmelo Anthony's ambition to play in New York, according to multiple reports Sunday.

The deal for the forward would send New York's Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry to Minnesota and Wilson Chandler to Denver. The Timberwolves, in turn, would sent the Nuggets Corey Brewer and a first-round pick, according to sources who spoke with the New York Post and ESPN.
It was previously reported that the Knicks were happy to wait until the summer to try to bring Anthony to Manhattan as a free agent and hold on to their young talent, but team president Donnie Walsh was being pushed by owner James Dolan to do a deal before the Feb. 24 deadline.
"Dolan is really pressuring Walsh to get Melo, but Denver has been vacillating back and forth," one source said.
Despite his well-known desire to play in New York, in the past few months Anthony has twice been close to agreeing to a trade to the New Jersey Nets.
