What the hell is wrong with George Karl? Did you catch all that's going down with his interview in Esquire? Karl basically says that Doc Rivers' success as a coach in the League paves the way for 4 or 5 other "Afro-Americans" to be "annointed" to head coaching positions without having to pay their dues like everybody else. Doc was then interviewed yesterday by Peter Vecsey and was pretty candid in his response. He said that he feels that 13 years as a player was enough experience and pointed out that Karl didn't say anything about Larry Bird, who also had no previous experience. He also added that for him, it's about the players and the team, whereas Karl's in it for himself and that Karl "needs a big hug." Like a man amongst boys. Not even. It was more like a man amongst little girls watching Shaq pummel the Knicks yesterday. The Daddy went for 40 on 15-21 shooting from the field while his Lakers rolled 117-103. Shaq had Kurt Thomas on him and while Thomas is a warrior, there's just nothing he could do. You could've given Thomas a bat and an elephant gun and he couldn't have slowed down Shaq.

Did you see T-Mac's hammer on the Raptors yesterday? He blew past Vince on the left wing and took off for the rim. Keon Clark came flying by for the block, hitting McGrady with his shoulder. T-Mac stayed on course and ripped it with a one-hand tomahawk. In that game, Pat Garrity smacked Vince in the face with an elbow as he was coming down from a jumper. With his usual theatrics, Carter was down and wincing for the rest of the game. Did you know that in the northeast Ohio area, Lebron James' high school games are blowing away the Cavs games in TV ratings? Speaking of the Cavs, Tyrone Hill had to sit out last night's game against the Bulls because of the concussion he sustained after smacking heads with Sam Cassell on Friday night. "Bumping uglies" doesn't even do that one justice. How about the Gonzaga snub? How does the 6th-ranked team in the country essentially get seeded 20th in the NCAA Tournament? By the way, can it please just be Thursday already? Did you hear the rumors that Florida freshman James White is thinking about jumping to the League because he isn't happy with his playing time under Billy Donovan? Georgetown declined an invitation to the NIT yesterday, citing the fact that they didn't want their players to miss any classes. Are you laughing as hard as we are right now? We're out like Kevin Braswell from his Rocket Science classes.
