Report: Lakers laugh off trade rumors

The Lakers Wednesday laughed off the rumor of a possible four-player deal with the Denver Nuggets involving Carmelo Anthony, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The mooted move would see Lakers center Andrew Bynum and small forward Ron Artest head to the Nuggets in a swap for Anthony and forward Al Harrington.
After practice Wednesday, Lakers coach Phil Jackson laughed when pressed on trading for Anthony.
"I haven't even entertained it," Jackson said. "My first thought is why are these (media) people interrupting my life with these kind of rumors."
The Times also cited an unnamed Lakers official, who "steadfastly denied" a trade was on the table.
Anthony, a 26-year-old four-time All-Star, has refused to sign a three-year, $65 million extension with Denver, and it is believed that his preferred destination is the Knicks.
