And Mo Cheeks, coach Maurice Cheeks, he's keeping everything sane. Keeping them focused on their unending commitment to mediocrity and underachievement, and possibly keeping them out of the playoffs. Sure, the and may dive out of the playoff bracket before all is said and done (not the way they're playing, though), and the may dive in (you think?), but who wants to lay money on this Blazer team? Who wants to watch them? Who wants to think about them? Who else is pissed that they're pissing off the basketball gods by treating the game this way? By betraying their talent and going through the motions? Who else thinks this is a a Top 2 team that'll finish with a Top 20 record? Who else doesn't get why they don't get it? Money and ennui can't be the root of all these problems, but it's hard to find something else to pin it on. This team is playing like a squad on Ritalin, something to give the kids to get them to shut up and work at playing up to 60 percent of their potential. No, this team is giving Ritalin a bad name.
