Nets lose two centers in game vs. Indiana Pacers
NEWARK, N.J. (AP)
Nets starting center Shelden Williams left the game in the second quarter with an injured right eye and rookie backup Jordan Williams left in the third quarter after being hit in the head and developing concussion-type symptoms.
Shelden Williams walked immediately to the locker room after being fouled by Tyler Hansbrough with 7:44 left in the half and did not return. The team announced before the end of the half that he would not return because of a ''right eye injury.''
He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center for further observation, a team spokesman said without getting more specific about the injury.
Williams had four points and five rebounds before being hurt. His injury left the injury-ravaged Nets with nine players. Guards Jordan Farmar (groin) and Anthony Morrow (shoulder) both missed their second straight game.
The bench dropped to eight when Jordan Williams left after incidental contact in the corner.
