Parker, Manu get Spurs by Kings

Tony Parker scored 27 points, Manu Ginobili had 24 and the San Antonio Spurs won their 11th in a row over Sacramento, beating the Kings 108-103 on Friday night.

Tim Duncan added 15 for the Spurs, whose streak dates to 2007, but the West's worst team didn't make it easy for the NBA-best Spurs.

The Kings led 91-88 in the fourth before the Spurs pulled away with a 17-2 run. Jermaine Taylor and Omri Casspi led Sacramento with 16 points apiece.

Sacramento is getting as used to bats in San Antonio as losses. For the second straight year with the Kings in town, a bat swooped down from the AT&T Center rafters and circled the court during the game.

The commotion ended when the bat flew smack into a fan. It apparently survived.

Last season - on Halloween, no less - Ginobili swatted down a bat and carried it off the court in a win over the Kings. Ginobili later received a vaccination for rabies as a precaution.

Kings coach Paul Westphal came closest this time - but whiffed when he took a lunging swing at it with his whiteboard.

But bat or no bat, the lowly Kings would've kept the game surprisingly lively.

Sacramento, which already count the Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando among its 15 wins, nearly added the NBA-leading Spurs to their otherwise disappointing season. The Kings stayed close the entire game and took an 89-88 lead with 6:10 left on a pair of Eugene Jeter's free throws.

Taylor's alley-oop dunk moment later pushed Sacramento's lead to 91-88. But Ginobili tied the game with his 3-pointer, and after a Duncan layup, Ginobili hit his third 3-pointer to extend San Antonio's lead to 96-93.

The Spurs ran away from there. Ginobili scored 10 points in the fourth, and DeJuan Blair had six of his 14 points in the quarter.

George Hill also scored 14 for the Spurs.

Jeter finished with 15 for the Kings. DeMarcus Cousins had 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Francisco Garcia added 14 points.

The Spurs played without forward Richard Jefferson, who missed the game for undisclosed personal reasons. Rookie James Anderson started in his place, scoring just three points in 18 minutes.

Jefferson is expected to back in the lineup Sunday at Houston. It's the easiest stop on a three-game road swing for the Spurs, who'll also play at Miami and at Dallas before returning home March 19 to play Charlotte.

The Kings were also down a starter. Point guard Beno Udrih, their second-leading scorer (13.8 ppg), stayed in Sacramento with the flu. Luther Head started in Udrih's place, scoring seven points.

Notes: The Kings will have one more chance April 6 to break their skid against the Spurs. ... San Antonio improved to 31-3 at home.
