Bucks-Hawks game postponed

With much of Atlanta snowed in two days after a harsh winter storm slammed the South, the Hawks postponed their game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night.
In preparation for a similar pounding in the Northeast, several sporting events scheduled for Wednesday have been scratched.
The New Jersey Institute of Technology has put off their men's and women's basketball games against Texas-Pan American because a grim forecast is calling for up to 15 inches of snow with ice and whipping winds. The games will be made up Thursday afternoon.
In Philadelphia, Saint Joseph's moved back the start of its women's basketball game against Xavier by one hour to 1 p.m. Saint Joseph's spokesman Jack Jumper says the switch is intended to ensure referees, other game personnel and fans can get to the game without problems.
Aqueduct racetrack in Queens, N.Y., canceled racing for Wednesday. A decision whether to keep open Aqueduct and the Belmont Cafe for simulcasting will be made Wednesday morning.
The Hawks and Bucks will make up their game March 15 at Philips Arena.
The Bucks arrived in Atlanta on Monday. One of the reasons for postponing the game was the concern for having enough staff at the arena to work it, Hawks spokesman Arthur Triche said.
Now both teams have to figure out how to leave Atlanta for games Wednesday. The Hawks are scheduled to play at Toronto and Milwaukee has a home game against San Antonio.
