Anthony has mixed feelings about Nets' move to Brooklyn

Knicks star Carmelo Anthony said the New Jersey Nets would discover a "sports-fanatic borough" in Brooklyn but that he was still unsure if the franchise could make its mark there after relocating in 2012, the New York Post reported Thursday.
Anthony, who spent his first nine years in Brooklyn before moving to Baltimore, opted to move to Manhattan over a belated return to his place of childhood when making his midseason trade from the Denver Nuggets, after both the Knicks and the Nets battled for his signature.
The All-Star was the standout performer when the two teams met Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden, scoring 39 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in New York's 120-116 victory.
But when asked whether he believed that the Nets' move next year could be a springboard to success, Anthony said he still had doubts, while recognizing the boost the team's arrival could give to its new surroundings.
"I really don't know," he said. "Brooklyn is a sports-fanatic borough. Once [the Nets] get there, they can actually have something to root for. Although it's still a lot of Knicks fans over there, they can have something they can say is theirs."
