News: Thompson could be a prime target for a trade from the Kings during the off-season as the team's forward pool is crowded, the Sacramento Bee reports.
Impact: Thompson pretty much had the worst overall numbers in his six-year career, all with the Kings, topped by the lowest points per game, 7.1, in his career. He also had the lowest assists per game 0.6, in his career and his rebounds, 6.4, were next to the lowest in his career (6.1 during the 2010-11 season). Thompson could battle for playing time next season with Carl Landry, Derrick Williams and Reggie Evans. But with Thompson one of the remaining pieces from the previous Kings' administration, there is a good chance he will find another address in 2014-15.
Apr 20, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Gay is expected to be a priority this off-season for the Kings even if he decides to opt out of his last year of his contract, the Sacramento Bee reports.
Impact: Gay can become an unrestricted free agent by opting out of his contract that is due to pay him $19.3 million next season. Even if he decides to opt out, the Kings appear that they will try to keep him. Between the Raptors and the Kings, Gay finished with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. Many of his numbers increased when he was with the Kings especially his overall shooting percentage. While with the Kings he shot 48 percentage as opposed to 39 percent with Toronto.

News: McLemore closed out his rookie season by scoring a career-high 31 points in Wednesday's 104-99 loss to Phoenix.
Impact: The first-round pick finished the year scoring in double figures in each of his last five games.
Wed. Apr 16, 2014 | RotoWire
News: McLemore scored 31 points (9-20 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 10-15 FT) to go along with five rebounds and five assists in 42 minutes against Phoenix on Wednesday.
Impact: McLemore saved his best for last, as the rookie who had struggled for much of the year exploded for a career-high 31 points in the regular season finale. Already without DeMarcus Cousins (suspension), Sacramento benched Rudy Gay and Isaiah Thomas after halftime and the offense continually went through McLemore.
Wed. Apr 16, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thomas scored four points (2-5 FG, 0-3 3Pt) and handed out four assists in 17 minutes Wednesday against Phoenix.
Impact: Thomas missed 10 straight games before returning Sunday against the Timberwolves. He looked healthy for the most part, but was limited Wednesday (along with Rudy Gay) as both the Kings and Suns essentially emptied out their benches for the final 24 minutes.
Wed. Apr 16, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Gay scored six points (3-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and grabbed six rebounds in 16 minutes against Phoenix on Wednesday.
Impact: Although the Kings had been eliminated for a few weeks now, both Gay and fellow starter Isaiah Thomas briefly played in the season finale. Overall, it was actually a pretty good year in Sacramento for Gay, who has earned a less-than stellar reputation amongst analytics fans. In any event, the 48 percent he shot for the Kings would have been a career-high for a single season (by a wide margin, too) but his overall percentage was dragged down by his brief, but poor stint in Toronto.
Wed. Apr 16, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Gay (back) will play Wednesday against the Suns, Cowbell Kingdom reports.
Impact: After missing three of the last four games, including Sunday's win over Minnesota, Gay will take the floor for Sacramento's season finale. Gay last played Saturday versus the Clippers, scoring 16 points (6-18 FG) in 34 minutes.
Wed. Apr 16, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thomas will play Wednesday against the Suns, Cowbell Kingdom reports.
Impact: Thomas returned to the lineup Sunday after missing 10 games with a quad issue, scoring 14 points in 30 minutes. He'll likely see similar playing time in Wednesday's finale, while rookie Ray McCallum will maintain his role as the backup.
Tue. Apr 15, 2014 | STATS
News: Gay is dealing with a sore back.
Impact: It's uncertain if he will play Wednesday.
Tue. Apr 15, 2014 | STATS
News: Cousins has been suspended for the season finale after picking up his 16th technical.
Impact: It's a mandatory suspension without pay, something he's grown used to.
Mon. Apr 14, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Reed was recalled by the Kings on Monday, the team's official site reports.
Impact: Reno's season came to an end Sunday, so Reed, who averaged 9.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and two blocks in 25 minutes per game, will get a chance to spend the final two days of the regular season with the NBA team, although he's unlikely to play much.
Mon. Apr 14, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Cousins has been suspended one game without pay and will serve his suspension in the Kings' season finale on Wednesday against Phoenix, Yahoo! Sports reports.
Impact: Cousins received the suspension after he picked up his 16th technical foul. Expect either Derrick Williams or Reggie Evans to be inserted into the starting lineup on Wednesday with Cousins out.
Mon. Apr 14, 2014 | STATS
News: Cousins keeps rolling, and he had another monster game on Sunday night, putting up 35 points and 15 rebounds in Sacramento's 106-103 win against Minnesota.
Impact: The center, making a push for All-NBA honors, has recorded a double-double in eight straight games.
Apr 13, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Williams started Sunday and recorded 13 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 40 minutes.
Impact: Williams started in place of the injured Rudy Gay (back) but didn't really do anything with the increased playing time. He'll likely return to the bench when Gay comes back into the rotation.
Apr 13, 2014 | RotoWire
News: McCallum returned to his bench role Sunday and ended with 11 points, three rebounds, six assists and one blocked shot in 28 minutes.
Impact: McCallum was a solid flier while Isaiah Thomas (quadriceps) was out, but now McCallum can be put back on the shelf. The Kings only have one game left on the schedule and Thomas will likely be an active participant.
Apr 13, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thomas (quadriceps) returned to the court Sunday as a starter and produced 14 points (6-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds and four assists in 30 minutes.
Impact: Thomas didn't play his normal complement of minutes but that was to be expected considering that he's been out for an extended amount of time. He'll look to finish out a very productive season Wednesday now that he has a post-injury game under his belt.
Apr 13, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thomas is in the starting lineup for the Kings Sunday, Cowbell Kingdom reports.
Impact: Thomas' status for the rest of the season was questionable, and it was announced right before tip-off that he would be starting. Look for him to play in the Kings' final regular season game against the Suns on Wednesday as well.
Apr 13, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thomas (quadriceps) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Timberwolves, the Kings' official site reports.
Impact: Although Thomas is listed as active, this does not necessarily mean that he will play. Chances are looking better that he will, but he likely won't see too many minutes in his first game back.
Apr 13, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thomas has an "outside chance" of playing Sunday according to coach Mike Malone, Cowbell Kingdom reports.
Impact: Thomas was initially ruled out for Sunday's contest, but it looks like that could change. There is a small possibility that he ends up playing, but don't expect to put up much production if he does play.
Apr 13, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Williams will start at small forward Sunday against the Timberwolves, the Kings' official site reports.
Impact: Williams will be starting in place for the injured Rudy Gay (back). This will likely be just a one-game thing with Gay expected to return to the lineup for Wednesday's tilt against the Suns.
Apr 13, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Gay (back) will not play in Sunday's game against the Timberwolves, the Kings' official site reports.
Impact: Gay will sit out due to the fact that the team is playing in back-to-back sets. Derrick Williams will start in his place. Expect Gay to return to the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Suns.
Apr 13, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thomas (quadriceps) will not play Sunday versus Minnesota, Timberwolves play-by-play voice Alan Horton reports.
Impact: Thomas remaining out will allow rookie Ray McCallum to register his 11th career start on Sunday. With the Kings' final game of the season coming on Wednesday, Thomas' fantasy owners probably shouldn't expect to use the point guard in lineups, although confirmation probably won't come until later this week.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | STATS
News: DeMarcus Cousins had his seventh straight double-double with 32 points and 12 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as Sacramento lost on Saturday to the Los Angeles Clippers, 117-101.
Impact: Since March 31, Cousins has averaged 26.9 points and 11.9 rebounds per game.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Gay (back) returned from a two-game absence with 16 points (6-18 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT) and six rebounds in 34 minutes in the loss to the Clippers on Saturday.
Impact: Gay missed last week's losses to the Thunder and Trail Blazers, and his return wasn't able to rescue the Kings from defeat. He'll have a major decision in the offseason to determine whether he wants to exercise his player option and stay with the Kings or test the free-agent market.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thompson played just 13 minutes in the loss to the Clippers on Saturday, posting three points (1-1 FG, 1-2 FT) and three boards.
Impact: Thompson was replaced in the starting lineup by Reggie Evans, who had a double-double. Even when given a nice allotment of minutes, Thompson hasn't been able to do much.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Evans had a nice game as a starter in the loss to the Clippers on Saturday, providing 14 points (4-6 FG, 6-8 FT) and 14 rebounds in 34 minutes.
Impact: Evans' minutes have been all over the board of late, but he took the starter's job from Jason Thompson against the Clippers. When given enough minutes, Evans can provide double-digit rebounds.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Cousins provided 32 points (12-27 FG, 8-9 FT) with 12 rebounds and five assists in the loss to the Clippers on Saturday.
Impact: Cousins continued to pile up massive numbers in losing efforts. In his last five games (all Kings losses), he's averaged 26.6 points, 11.8 rebounds, two steals, and 1.2 blocks. The next step is putting up numbers for a winning team.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thompson will come off the bench Saturday at the Clippers, the Sacramento Bee reports.
Impact: Reggie Evans will get back in the starting lineup, making Thompson a shaky option in most formats.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Evans will start at power forward Saturday at the Clippers, the Sacramento Bee reports.
Impact: Evans has seen between 14 and 23 minutes in the last five games in which he's played, but that number could creep up Saturday, making him a solid source of rebounds. Jason Thompson will come off the bench.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thomas (quadriceps) is doubtful to play Sunday versus the Timberwolves, the Cowbell Kingdom reports.
Impact: Thomas tweeted out that he hopes to get back on the court Sunday or Wednesday, but it looks like he'll be resigned to Wednesday against the Suns, if he's going to see the floor again this season.
Sat. Apr 12, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thomas, who has missed the last nine games with a quadriceps injury, said on Twitter that he'll try to play either Sunday or Wednesday.
Impact: The Kings host the T-Wolves on Sunday and then have two nights off, before hosting the Suns for their final game of the season. It sounds like Thomas intends to get back on the court again this season, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will happen. If you've been hanging on to him this long, you might as well wait and see what his status is Sunday. Look for Ray McCallum to continue to be a steady option in the Kings' backcourt, especially if Thomas remains sidelined.
Fri. Apr 11, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thomas (quad) will not play Saturday versus the Clippers and is likely out Sunday against the Timberwolves, News 10 in Sacramento reports.
Impact: A quad contusion has kept Thomas sidelined for the last nine contests, which has enabled Ray McCallum to slot in as the starting point guard. If Thomas does, indeed, sit out Sunday, he'll only have one opportunity remaining to take the court this season (Wednesday versus Phoenix).
Fri. Apr 11, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Gay (back) practiced Friday and will play Saturday versus the Clippers, News 10 in Sacramento reports.
Impact: A minor back injury kept Gay out of the Kings' last two games, allowing Travis Outlaw to enter the starting lineup. Gay will reclain his spot as the starting shooting guard, while Outlaw and Derrick Williams will likely see minutes reductions.
Thu. Apr 10, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Cunningham has been signed for the remainder of the season.
Impact: Cunningham was signed to a 10-day contract on Mar. 31, and it appears he'll stay with the Kings for the last few games. He hasn't contributed from a fantasy perspective, regardless.
Thu. Apr 10, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Reed was assigned to Reno of the NBA's D-League on Thursday.
Impact: While Reed has yet to appear in an NBA game, he's averaged 13.6 points (on 64.9 percent shooting), 7.6 boards, 2.4 blocks, and 1.2 assists in 24.8 minutes across five contests as a Bighorn. Expect the 23-year-old forward to continue his development in the D-League.
Thu. Apr 10, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Evans (back) returned to the lineup Wednesday and recorded four points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals in 23 minutes.
Impact: Evans is a great source for last-ditch rebounding efforts even though he plays limited minutes. It appears that he'll be back at it Saturday when the Kings face the Clippers.
Thu. Apr 10, 2014 | RotoWire
News: McCallum has played a strenuous amount of minutes since being inserted into the Kings' starting lineup, but he says that he hasn't been affected by fatigue, the Sacramento Bee reports. "I feel like I'm in good shape, I can run up and down the court all day. I really don't think that's an issue [fatigue] these last few games," said McCallum.
Impact: McCallum is currently getting all the minutes that he can handle with Isaiah Thomas (quad) out of the lineup. His production had waned in the previous three games before Wednesday's outing when he put up 23 points. Despite the drop in production, McCallum is still a must play in most formats.
Thu. Apr 10, 2014 | STATS
News: McCallum had 23 points during the Kings' 100-99 loss to Portland on Wednesday.
Impact: McCallum missed a 21-foot jumper as time ran out for the Kings and Portland's Robin Lopez grabbed the rebound and held it tight for the victory.
Thu. Apr 10, 2014 | STATS
News: Cousins had 30 points and 12 rebounds for the Kings on Wednesday.
Impact: It's really not his fault that Sacramento has lost four straight and sits near the bottom of the West in front of the Los Angeles Lakers and Utah.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Outlaw scored five points (2-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT) to go along with four rebounds and three assists in 29 minutes against Portland on Wednesday night.
Impact: With Rudy Gay (back) out for the second-straight game, Outlaw was in the starting lineup again. Only this time, he couldn't back up a 24-point performance. He's worth a look if Gay misses more time because he'll get minutes, but expecting another 24-point performance would be a bit ambitious.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Cousins scored 30 points (14-29 FG, 2-3 FT) and grabbed 12 rebounds in 37 minutes against Portland on Wednesday night.
Impact: It's now six-straight double-doubles for Cousins, who just really looks unstoppable at the moment. It might not be a coincidence that Cousins has played a tad bit better with Rudy Gay (back) and Isaiah Thomas (quad) sidelined. He's getting more shots, but has been equally as efficient as ever.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | RotoWire
News: McCallum scored 23 points (7-15 FG, 4-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT) to go along with eight assists, four rebounds and three steals in 43 minutes against Portland on Wednesday night.
Impact: It was a complete game for McCallum, who started his ninth-straight game with Isaiah Thomas (quad) sidelined. He had been struggling as he was held under 10 points in three straight games, but he bounced back well with a 23-point game which also saw him not turn the ball over a single time. He's essentially playing the entire game and unless Thomas returns, he's a must-have in all leagues.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Outlaw will get the start in place of Rudy Gay (back) Wednesday against the Blazers.
Impact: Outlaw will make his second straight start and fourth of the season as Gay continues to nurse a back injury. In 37 minutes of action Tuesday, Outlaw posted a season-high 24 points (11-20 FG, 1-6 3Pt), five rebonds and four assists.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Gay (back) will not play Wednesday against the Blazers, CBS Sports 1140 in Sacramento reports.
Impact: Gay was initially listed as "likely" to play, but he'll miss his second straight game with a minor back injury. Expect Derrick Williams and Travis Outlaw to be the primary beneficiaries of his absence.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Evans (back) is likely to play Wednesday against the Blazers, Cowbell Kingdom reports.
Impact: After sitting out Tuesday's game with a back issue, the Reggie Evans rebounding experience is expected back in the lineup. If he does return, Quincy Acy and Derrick Williams could see a slight decrease in minutes.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Gay (back) is likely to play Wednesday against the Blazers, Cowbell Kingdom reports.
Impact: Gay missed Tuesday's game with a back issue but is expected back in the lineup Wednesday. Aside from the back injury, it remains a possibility Gay could miss time with his wife, Ecko, expecting a child in the near future.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thomas (quad) will not play Wednesday against the Blazers, Cowbell Kingdom reports.
Impact: Thomas will miss his ninth consecutive game, allowing rookie Ray McCallum to continue starting at point guard. It's unknown when, or if, Thomas will return this season, as only three games remain on the Kings' schedule after Wednesday.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | STATS
News: Evans has a back injury for the Kings.
Impact: Evans' status is uncertain.
Wed. Apr 9, 2014 | STATS
News: Rudy Gay sat out of Sacramento's game on Tuesday night because of a back injury.
Impact: The forward scored 32 points on Sunday, but was not able to give it a go versus Oklahoma City.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Cousins had yet another double-double Tuesday with 24 points (10-24 FG, 4-6 FT) and 14 rebounds in 35 minutes against the Thunder. He also added an assist, two steals and two blocks.
Impact: Cousins recorded his fifth consecutive double-double and has been excellent all season. Over his past five games, Cousins is averaging 25.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks on 53.7 percent shooting from the field in 31.6 minutes.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Outlaw started in place of Rudy Gay (back) and scored 24 points (11-20 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT) to go with five rebounds and four assists in 37 minutes in a loss to the Thunder on Tuesday.
Impact: Outlaw's big night Tuesday can probably be attributed to the absence of Isaiah Thomas (quad), Rudy Gay (back) and Reggie Evans (back). Outlaw is averaging only 5.0 points this season, so it's unlikely that he can keep this up.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Outlaw will start Tuesday for the injured Rudy Gay (back), Cowbell Kingdom reports.
Impact: Outlaw is averaging just 6.2 points and 3.2 rebounds over the last five games, and it's not likely he'll be a fantasy option to close the season. Although Rudy Gay could miss more than one game this week, Outlaw still doesn't produce enough to warrant ownership.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Reed was recalled from the D-League and is active Tuesday against the Thunder, the Kings' official site reports.
Impact: Reed has yet to log a game in the NBA this season, and it appears he may have the chance to do so with the Kings dealing with a plethora of injuries in Tuesday's game.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thompson will start for the injured Reggie Evans (back) Tuesday against the Thunder, the Sacramento Bee reports.
Impact: Thompson hasn't produced well this season despite starting for the majority of the year, and his return to the starting lineup probably won't mean too much moving forward.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Evans will sit Tuesday's game against the Thunder with back issues, Cowbell Kingdom reports.
Impact: It appears Evans will ride the pine Tuesday, which leaves room for Jason Thompson to see more minutes in the rotation. Consider Evans day-to-day for now.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Gay will sit Tuesday's game against the Thunder with back issues, Cowbell Kingdom reports.
Impact: This comes as a surprise to owners, as Gay hadn't been dealing with back issues for the past weeks. He's slated to possibly miss more games this week due to the birth of his child, so he'll be a shaky play in weekly leagues. Expect Derrick Williams to be the primary beneficiary of his minutes.
Tue. Apr 8, 2014 | RotoWire
News: Thomas (quad) will not play Tuesday, the Cowbell Kingdom reports.
Impact: Thomas has now missed two weeks of action, and it's becoming apparent his season is coming to an end. Expect Ray McCallum to continue dominating in his absence.
Sun. Apr 6, 2014 | STATS
News: Gay scored 32 points, but it wasn't enough on Sunday as Sacramento lost to Dallas 93-91.
Impact: Gay has scored 30 or more points in all three games versus Dallas this season, and is averaging 32.3 per game on the Mavericks in 2013-14.
