Scouting Report

Robinson has first-round ability, but could slip into the second round and possibly the third because he is not great in straight, man-to-man coverage schemes. Stock did rise a bit thanks to a good showing at the Senior Bowl, as he was the best cornerback during practices for the game. Florida State's most active pass defender possesses a good combination of size, strength and athleticism. That overall package could be a benefit in zone and two-deep coverage schemes. A confident player who enjoyed a solid four-year career under Bobby Bowden, Robinson is an aggressive defender who likes to gamble. None of his seven career interceptions, however, came as a senior. That could be partially attributed to opposing teams not throwing at him. Recorded a career-high 36 solo tackles last season and was credited with 11 passes defended to rank fifth in the ACC. Also forced two fumbles as a senior. Was a second-team all-ACC pick as a senior and played well in a 33-21 win over West Virginia in the Gator Bowl. Involvement in Florida State's academic scandal in 2008 could cause some teams to question his character, but his physical attributes can't be overlooked. Has the ideal size and straight-line speed to be a starting cornerback in the NFL. Durability is a potential weak point, as he dealt with multiple injuries during his career.
