Jahvid Best, RB
- Height: 5-foot-10
- Weight: 195 pounds
- School: California

Scouting Report
Best entered his junior season at Cal as a contender for the Heisman Trophy after rushing for 1,580 yards with 15 touchdowns and averaging an amazing 8.1 yards per carry in 2008. He averaged 137.3 rushing yards in his first three games of 2009 but amassed just 75.8 per game in conference play before being injured against Oregon State on Nov. 7. Best fell on the back of his head from about 8 feet while leaping into the end zone for a touchdown and was unconscious after the fall. He was hospitalized overnight after being taken off the field on a stretcher and did not play the rest of the season. Best announced in early January that he would skip his senior year and enter the draft. He appeared in nine games in 2009, running for 867 yards and 12 TDs. Over his last two seasons, Best caught 49 passes for 459 yards with five scores. He possesses elite speed and has drawn comparisons to Tennessee Titans star Chris Johnson due to his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield and his knack for pulling away from defenders in the open field. Being able to power his way through the line in the NFL and durability are concerns for Best, who suffered two concussions in 2009 and has dealt with various injuries in his career. He had the fastest time among running backs at the NFL combine in the 40-yard dash, doing so in 4.35 seconds, and was tops in the three-cone drill. Best is expected to be selected late in the first round or early in the second.
