Antonio Allen, S
- Height: 6-foot-2
- Weight: 208 pounds
- School: South Carolina
An excellent run defender, Allen's stock may drop after he ran a 4.67 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, though he performed fairly well in the other workouts. Though listed as a safety, Allen was employed as a rover at South Carolina, and his size and versatility should still result in him being picked in the first few rounds. He played 36 games over the past three seasons and had a team-high 88 total tackles and three interception returns for 44 yards in 2011. Allen also totaled 20.0 tackles for loss over the past two years and exhibits the aggressiveness and ball-hawking abilities coveted by NFL teams. He is also know for causing turnovers with big hits. Along with questions about his speed and worries that he could be exposed by fast receivers in coverage, Allen's all-out play causes him to over-pursue and be out of position at times. He may need time and coaching to help him learn to pick the right spots to be aggressive, but his upside will likely be too much for teams to ignore for long. He's expected to be among the first few players picked at his position and probably won't last past the third round.
