Dee Milliner, DB
- Height: 6-foot-1
- Weight: 199 pounds
- School: Alabama
Milliner, a first-team all-SEC pick and a unanimous first-team All-American, is expected to be the first defensive back picked in the April draft. Milliner decided to skip his senior season after helping the Crimson Tide win the last two BCS national titles. As a junior, Milliner was a four-time SEC defensive player of the week. He recorded 51 tackles, four for loss, two INTs and a career-best 18 pass breakups while being named a finalist for the Bronco Nagurski Award, given to the defensive player of the year. He was also a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, presented to the nation's top defensive back. He rarely gets beat deep, and he's shown outstanding change-of-direction ability and closing speed. Milliner is also strong at the line of scrimmage and will battle receivers during their routes or when blocking. Along with Milliner needing to improve his open-field tackling and performance against the run, a major concern among NFL executives is the surgery the native of Millbrook, Ala., needed in March for a torn right labrum. The injury was suffered in Alabama's lone defeat this past season to Texas A&M. Before undergoing surgery, Milliner competed in the Scouting Combine (his shoulder prevented him from benching), clocking a 4.37 in the 40-yard dash, 4.32 in the 20-yard shuttle, 6.95 in the 3-cone drill, and posting solid results in the vertical leap (36 inches) and broad jump (122 inches).
