News: Marshall (hip) said in an interview with the NFL Network that he will report to training camp on time, the Denver Post reports. [+]
Impact: Marshall acknowledged that he is under contract with the team, which most likely means he knows he would have been docked $15,888 per day that he skipped at camp. While Marshall has made it publicly known that he wants out of Denver, head coach Josh McDaniels has been just as clear that he wants Marshall in a Broncos uniform. Marshall is an elite wide receiver and should still produce a solid season even though Jay Cutler has been replaced with Kyle Orton. The next step in this saga will be based on his reaction when camp begins in July. ( RotoWire - Fri. Jul 17, 2009) |
News: Marshall (hip) received a letter from head coach Josh McDaniels that he must report to training camp on July 27, when the team's rookies and injured players are required to report, the Denver Post reports. [+]
Impact: Marshall has skipped all workouts with the team so far this offseason and continues to be unhappy with his situation in Denver. While there have been mixed reports that the team is willing to trade him, he remains on the roster and clearly the team is expecting him to show up for camp in July. Marshall must at least report by August 11 or else he will forfeit an accrued season and be one year further away from being an unrestricted free agent. While he has been training as of late with Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, Marshall has not done anything with McDaniels and the Broncos. ( RotoWire - Wed. Jul 15, 2009) |
News: Given the abrupt retirement of Baltimore receiver Derrick Mason, trade rumors involving Marshall (hip) and the Ravens should resume in earnest, according to Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site. [+]
Impact: Baltimore is very thin at receiver, so the Ravens could make a serious bid for Marshall, who wants out of Denver. ( RotoWire - Mon. Jul 13, 2009)

News: Anderson (calf) appears to have fully recovered and will be ready for the start of training camp, ESPN.com reports. [+]
Impact: Anderson, who missed the last two days of minicamp with a wrap on his calf and a limp, will compete for the Browns' starting QB job with Brady Quinn and Brett Ratliff. ( RotoWire - Fri. Jul 17, 2009) |
News: Davis has signed a four-year deal with the Browns, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. [+]
Impact: Given that he was a sixth-round pick, it is no surprise that he was able to sign early. As of now he is probably the third running back on the depth chart behind Jamal Lewis and Jerome Harrison. ( RotoWire - Wed. Jul 15, 2009) |
News: Given the abrupt retirement of Baltimore receiver Derrick Mason, trade rumors involving Edwards (undisclosed injury) and the Ravens should resume in earnest, according to Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site. [+]
Impact: Baltimore is very thin at receiver, but it would probably take a huge offer for the Ravens to pry Edwards loose from the Browns. ( RotoWire - Mon. Jul 13, 2009)
