News: Ingram reports that he has had no problems with his surgically repaired left knee during summer workouts, the Philadelphia Daily News reports. [+]
Impact: Ingram sat out the Florida Gators' national championship season after tearing his ACL during preseason workouts, causing his draft status to slide. He has the potential to be an elite pass catcher, however. "I've been catching on really good with the offense," Ingram said. "I've had the opportunity to be in there and get a lot of reps. My knee has been healthy the entire time. I've been getting better every day. I can see that I'm making strides and I feel real good about where I'm at right now." ( RotoWire - Tue. Jul 7, 2009) |
News: The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms on a four-year deal with McCoy, their second-round draft choice, according to his agent. [+]
Impact: Drew Rosenhaus announced the signing on his Twitter page Monday night. The running back from Pittsburgh, taken by Philadelphia with the 53rd overall selection, is the first second-round pick to sign. McCoy, who provides insurance behind the dynamic but injury prone Brian Westbrook, rushed for 2,816 yards and 35 TDs, and caught 65 passes for 549 yards and one score in two seasons at Pitt. He ran for 1,488 yards and 21 TDs last year. ( STATS - Mon. Jun 29, 2009) |
News: The Eagles announced the signing of second-round pick McCoy to a four-year contract Monday. [+]
Impact: McCoy figures to get a heavy workload in the preseason with Brian Westbrook's durability issues and the departure of Correll Buckhalter. As an experienced pass-catcher out of the backfield, McCoy projects as a convenient fit in the Eagles offense. ( RotoWire - Mon. Jun 29, 2009)

Big play lifts Eagles past Vikes
Brian Westbrook caught a short pass out of the backfield and weaved through the Minnesota defense for a devastating 71-yard touchdown midway through the fourth quarter, and the Eagles spoiled the Vikings' first home playoff game in eight years.
Philadelphia will play next Sunday in New Jersey against the top-seeded Giants, sending Arizona to play Carolina in the other NFC divisional playoff game on Saturday.
Andy Reid improved his playoff coaching record to 9-6, including at least one win each time the Eagles have qualified in his 10 years.

Impact: This issue could easily stretch into the fall. It looks like the Williams Wall will be available to the Vikings in Week 1, but the case could ultimately go against them sometime during the season. They are both facing a four-game suspension for testing positive for a banned diuretic. ( RotoWire - Thu. Jul 9, 2009)
