James Casey (PHI - TE) News: Casey recently underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on his right knee and will miss the remainder of the Eagles' OTAs, Philly.com reports. "I had a minor scope done on my right knee," Casey noted. "I'll be back to full speed in two weeks. Better to get it taken care of now" [+]
Impact: Once he's back up to speed, Casey will be counted on to add some valuable versatility to the Eagles' new offense, with his ability to play tight end, fullback and even work as a slot receiver. ( RotoWire - Thu. May 23, 2013) |

LeSean McCoy (PHI - RB) News: McCoy (knee) is "OK," after leaving Monday's OTAs with discomfort in his knee, the Philadelphia Daily News' Les Bowen reports. [+]
Impact: This just further confirms that this is a minor issue and should not affect McCoy going forward, barring any setbacks. ( RotoWire - Tue. May 21, 2013) |
|
Nick Foles (PHI - QB) News: Foles took 21 snaps with the Eagles' first-team offense at practice Monday, while Michael Vick took 15, according to philly.com. [+]
Impact: We won't read too much into Monday's practice snap counts, but they do suggest that Vick -- who opened with the Eagles' first-team last week -- will face competition in the coming months from Foles. Vick remains the favorite to claim the starting assignment, but like Foles, he needs to get up to speed with coach Chip Kelly's offense, within the framework of a competitive environment. News: Bolden (ankle) was held out of Tuesday's OTA workout as a precaution, the Boston Globe reports. [+]
Impact: Bolden, who is dealing with an ankle sprain, is expected to return to the field next week. Once he does, he figures to directly compete with newcomer LeGarrette Blount for a depth role behind presumed starter Stevan Ridley. ( RotoWire - Wed. May 22, 2013) |
News: Boyce (toe) is participating in the Patriots' OTAs, the Boston Globe reports. [+]
Impact: Evidently Boyce has recovered from surgery to repair a broken small toe and now that he has, he'll compete with the likes of fellow rookie Aaron Dobson, as well as veterans Donald Jones, Michael Jenkins and eventually Julian Edelman for slotting on the Patriots' wideout depth chart. At present, only Danny Amendola's role (in the slot) has been defined, with Boyce a candidate to emerge as a deep threat for QB Tom Brady. ( RotoWire - Wed. May 22, 2013) |
News: Gronkowski's agent says the tight end's latest surgery is expected to be the last on his forearm. [+]
Impact: The New England Patriots' star had his fourth surgery on Monday on the left forearm that he broke on Nov. 18 while blocking for an extra point against the Indianapolis Colts. He broke it again early in the Patriots' first playoff game, a win over the Houston Texans. Gronkowski's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said Tuesday that the surgeons said the latest operation went as well as they could have hoped for and that Gronkowski was in good spirits afterward.
