News: Jackson signed a one-year deal with the Seahawks on Tuesday, ESPN's John Clayton reports. [+]
Impact: Jackson was the Seahawks' starting quarterback in 2011 and figures to earn the backup job behind Russell Wilson. His scrambling ability allows the Seahawks to use a similar offense to what they use with Wilson, but the two players aren't at all comparable in terms of skill. Brady Quinn and Jerrod Johnson represent the competition for the backup job if Jackson falters in training camp. Seahawks fans will be saying plenty of prayers for Russell Wilson's health. ( RotoWire - Thu. June 13, 2013) |
News: Jackson is currently in contract talks with the Seahawks, ESPN reports. [+]
Impact: Jackson's deal, according to Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, is "not completed yet", but talks are ongoing. If an agreement is reached, Jackson will compete with Brady Quinn for Seattle's backup position behind clear-cut starter Russell Wilson. ( RotoWire - Thu. June 13, 2013) |
News: Miller did not practice Tuesday and was spotted with his left foot in a boot, according to The Tacoma News Tribune. [+]
Impact: Head coach Pete Carrol is not concerned, noting, "it's not going to be a serious problem;" therefore, it seems as if Miller's status for this season will not be affected by the torn plantar fascia in his left foot he suffered in the playoffs. Miller only recorded 396 receiving yards and three touchdowns last season, however if healthy, he should be the number one tight end on the depth chart for Seattle. ( RotoWire - Wed. News: Pettis is having a solid spring and is seeing time at split end and in the slot, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. [+]
Impact: Pettis was a favorite target of Sam Bradford in the red zone last season and has seen a lot of looks this spring. He will have to compete with Jared Cook for looks in the red zone, however, and a bevy of receivers in the passing game in general. Time will tell in the fall whether Pettis will be a factor in the fall. ( RotoWire - Thu. June 13, 2013) |
News: Finnegan missed practice Friday with a nicked-up leg, but the injury isn't serious, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. [+]
Impact: Finnegan had another stalwart season in 2012, with 101 tackles, three interceptions and a touchdown. He's not the flashiest defensive option out there, but is solid and consistent, and should deliver similar results in 2013. ( RotoWire - Sat. June 8, 2013) |
News: Givens will have an expanded role in the Rams' offense this season, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. [+]
Impact: Whereas Givens really only played one receiver position last year, he will be asked to move around more this season. With Danny Amendola gone, he has a good shot at the No. 1 receiver spot and may be primed for a breakout season. If you can grab him in the middle to late rounds, you should get a solid WR3/flex option. ( RotoWire - Sat. June 8, 2013) | |
