News: Angerer is being held out of this week's voluntary OTAs, as he hasn't been cleared to practice after he underwent surgery in January to help repair a broken foot, the Anderson Herald Bulletin reports. [+]
Impact: Angeerer broke his foot last preseason and struggled with the injury all year, missing five games, and then had surgery to add another screw in January. It's thought he'll be ready for training camp, but check his injury status this summer. Angerer's role on the Colts isn't clear, as he lost his starting job due to the injury but did have a career-high 148 tackles in starting all 16 games in 2011. ( RotoWire - Thu. May 23, 2013) |
News: Carter is being held out of Indy's voluntary OTAs after shoulder surgery, the Indianapolis Star reports. [+]
Impact: The injury sounds minor, but we'll need to watch his status at the start of training camp. Carter will enter training camp third on the running back depth chart, but could carve out a short-yardage and goal-line role if healthy. ( RotoWire - Thu. May 23, 2013) |
News: While Brown is healthy after a season-ending ankle injury last year, he enters training camp behind Vick Ballard on the depth chart, ESPN reports. "At this point, yeah, [Ballard's] sitting there as the lead guy. But Donnie's in great shape and healthy and looks fantastic to this point in the offseason program," head coach Chuck Pagano said. [+]
Impact: Brown played just 10 games last season as he missed time after surgery to repair torn cartilage in his knee and then had a season-ending ankle injury. It's good to hear he's healthy, but his struggles to establish himself as an every-down back the past three seasons may mean he's set for a more limited third-down or change-of-pace role this season. News: Harris will be subject to the same protocol that teams use for head injuries during the regular season, the Texans' official website reports. [+]
Impact: Harris collided with DeAndre Hopkins during Tuesday's practice and is likely dealing with a concussion. Hopkins escaped unscathed. ( RotoWire - Thu. May 23, 2013) |
News: Texans head coach Gary Kubiak anticipates Reed (hip) being back at some point during training camp and ready for the season opener, the Texans' official site reports. [+]
Impact: Kubiak wouldn't address speculation that Reed might not be ready for the first week of the season. "I don't go off speculation. We know what we know. He had the surgery. Everything went well. He went through the process of staying in Colorado which was part of the deal, part of the rehab process. Now, he's supposed to be turned loose this week," said Kubiak. ( RotoWire - Tue. May 21, 2013) |
News: Braman has been working with the starters during organized team activities, the Texans' official site reports. [+]
Impact: Braman's been a a good special teams player for the last two seasons, but now has a chance for a bigger role with some turnover at outside linebacker. The Texans lost Connor Barwin to free agency and are looking at moving Brooks Reed inside. ( RotoWire - Tue. May 21, 2013) | |
