Charles Woodson (GB - S) News: Woodson will receive quite a greeting from Oakland Raiders fans when he makes a free agent visit to the team's facilities on Tuesday. A few of his potential teammates in Oakland will give him a warm reception as well. Several Oakland fans began an online campaign via Facebook and Twitter asking others to gather at the Raiders facility in anticipation of Woodson's arrival. [+]
Impact: Woodson spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Raiders after being selected with the fourth overall pick in 1998. He signed with Green Bay following the 2005 season and helped the Packers win a Super Bowl title five years later before being released by the team in February. ( STATS - Mon. May 20, 2013) |
News: Bishop (torn hamstring) is confident that he'll be up to speed in time for training camp, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports. "Oh, training camp, I'll be 110 percent," Bishop said. "For sure." [+]
Impact: The report suggests that Bishop may play it safe and sit out the start of organized team activities this week. The linebacker missed the entire 2012 season after tearing his hamstring last August, but assuming his health, he'll start at right inside linebacker for the Packers, where he's a candidate to rack up triple-digit tackles once again. Charles Woodson (GB - S) News: Woodson has another team interested in signing him. Woodson's agent, Carl Poston, tells The Associated Press that the 36-year-old defensive back will visit with The Oakland Raiders on Tuesday. The 2009 NFL Defensive Player of the Year would've traveled to Oakland from Denver after meeting with the Broncos on Wednesday, but he had charity obligations this weekend to support Mott Children's Hospital. [+]
Impact: Poston says the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers along with a couple other teams, who he says don't want to be mentioned, have also contacted him about the eight-time Pro Bowl player. It's clear that not only is Woodson in high, high demand but he's a nice guy to boot from his charity work. ( STATS - Fri. May 17, 2013)

News: Webb has been moved to wide receiver from quarterback for the Vikings, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. [+]
Impact: Webb played wide receiver his sophomore year at Alabama-Birmingham and began his pro career at receiver before being moved back to quarterback. It's not clear if he'll get much playing time as he'll be down on the depth chart, but it's possible the Vikings could design several plays for him since he's got impressive speed (4.44 in the 40-yard dash) and would be a threat for trick plays since he can throw. He'll also offer a quandary for many fantasy leagues since his position eligibility between QB and WR may be uncertain. ( RotoWire - Thu. May 16, 2013) |
News: The Minnesota Vikings have signed three more draft picks, including Locke of UCLA. [+]
Impact: The Vikings announced the signings on Wednesday. Locke was taken in the fifth round to replace longtime punter Chris Kluwe, who was released last week. ( STATS - Wed. May 15, 2013) |
News: McNabb says he will retire with the Philadelphia Eagles this fall. [+]
Impact: The six-time Pro Bowl quarterback led the Eagles to four NFC championship games and a Super Bowl loss in 11 seasons before he was traded to Washington in 2010. McNabb went 92-49-1 with the Eagles and holds franchise records for completions (2801), passing yards (32,873) and passing touchdowns (216). McNabb announced these plans on ESPN Radio 97.7 FM in Syracuse and later on his NBC Sports Radio show. ( STATS - Tue. May 14, 2013)
