News: Rouse, an undrafted free agent from Fresno State University, has been signed by the Browns, the Akron Beacon Journal reports. [+]
Impact: Rouse is definitely short, standing at only 5-foot-6. However, he finished as Fresno State's all-time rushing leader with 4,647 rushing yards, 37 rushing touchdowns, 110 catches and 794 receiving yards. He surpassed 1,000 yards in each of his last three seasons. However, he lacks explosiveness and size. This may limit his play to acting as a change-of-pace back for the Browns. ( RotoWire - Sat. May 11, 2013) |
News: Faulk (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, the Akron Beacon Journal reports. [+]
Impact: Faulk, an undrafted free agent signee out of LSU, suffered a major knee injury in 2012 that caused his stock to plummet. At this point, the team is likely just being cautious in working him into rookie minicamp and allowing him to focus on his conditioning. ( RotoWire - Fri. May 10, 2013) |
News: Slaughter (Achilles) did not practice Friday, the Akron Beacon Journal reports. [+]
Impact: Slaughter was a sixth-round selection of the Browns in last month's draft. The injury is not considered serious, as Slaughter stretched with the team and rode a training bike for a portion of practice. ( RotoWire - Fri. May 10, 2013)

Le'Veon Bell (PIT - RB) News: Offensive coordinator Todd Haley feels that Bell can stay on the field on passing downs, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. "He's a big kid that can block and he's got nice, soft hands," Haley noted. [+]
Impact: In any case, it seems pretty clear that that Steelers drafted Bell to be their starter and if he does factor in the passing game, as Haley suggests he will, then he has an even better chance to put up fantasy-worthy numbers as a rookie. The report projects that Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman will contend for the team's No. 2 job, with LaRod Stephens-Howling and Baron Batch being possible candidates to emerge as the team's third-down back. ( RotoWire - Wed. May 1, 2013) |

Vince Williams (PIT - LB) News: The Pittsburgh Steelers have selected Williams in the sixth round of the NFL draft. [+]
Impact: Williams endured a series of injuries at Florida State but recorded a career-high 6.5 tackles for loss as a senior. He improved his draft stock during pre-draft workouts and gives the Steelers some help at inside linebacker. ( STATS - Sat. Apr 27, 2013) |

Justin Brown (PIT - WR) News: The Pittsburgh Steelers have taken Brown in the sixth round of the NFL draft. [+]
Impact: Brown spent 2012 with the Sooners after transferring from Penn State in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal. The 6-foot-3 Brown caught 73 passes for 879 yards and five touchdowns last season. ( STATS - Sat. Apr 27, 2013)
