News: Buckhalter (knee) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Chargers. [+]
Impact: He's working behind Knowshon Moreno, but the Broncos may run a bit more than usual this week with Chris Simms slated to be behind center. ( RotoWire - Nov 22, 2009) |
News: Marshall (neck) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Chargers. [+]
Impact: It looks like Chris Simms is starting at QB for the Broncos, but benching Marshall is probably not an option on the heels of back-to-back strong games. ( RotoWire - Nov 22, 2009) |
News: Correll Buckhalter was a non-factor on Sunday, carrying the ball just seven times for 35 yards in Denver's devastating 32-3 loss to the Chargers. [+]
Impact: Despite his bad day, rookie Knowshon Moreno had another crippling lost fumble, likely meaning Buckhalter will continue to receive a steady dose of carries going forward. ( Fanball - Sun. Nov 22, 2009)

News: Davis left Sunday's game in the fourth quarter due to a knee injury, the Cardinals' official site reports. [+]
Impact: While he didn't reenter the game, Davis described the injury as a tweak and he said he's fine. That's good news since he seems to have climbed over Bertrand Berry to serve as Chike Okeafor's top backup at outside linebacker. ( RotoWire - Mon. Nov 23, 2009) |
News: Breaston (right knee) had a quiet day on Sunday in large part because the Cardinals are using fewer three-receiver sets, the Arizona Republic reports. [+]
Impact: After sputtering in Weeks 1-8, the Cardinals' running game has improved markedly in recent weeks. Arizona is averaging 162 rushing yards per game in its last three contests. An increased reliance on the ground game means more two-receiver sets and fewer chances for Breaston (Arizona's third receiver). With the Cardinals running the ball better and with No. 2 receiver Anquan Boldin finally healthy, Breaston could play a smaller role for the rest of the season. We do, however, expect him to receive significantly more targets than he did on Sunday (when he was not targeted at all). He does not seem to have aggravated his knee injury. ( RotoWire - Mon. Nov 23, 2009) |
News: While Leinart's teammate Kurt Warner (head) expects to play in Week 12, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic isn't so sure. [+]
Impact: Somers writes that he might err on the side of caution and keep Warner out a week, especially since the Cardinals have a three-game lead in the NFC West. This is pure speculation at this point. Warner will be evaluated by the Cardinals' medical staff and his Week 12 status should become clearer throughout the week. If Warner doesn't play, Leinart will be an interesting Week 12 option since the Cardinals have a high-powered offense that is averaging 25.0 points per game. Many observers are criticizing Leinart's Week 11 performance, but it's important to remember that he hadn't played in a meaningful game in more than two years. He entered the contest with an 18-point lead and therefore wasn't asked to do too much. Also, a couple of drives stalled because one receiver dropped a pass and another lost a fumble. With more help from his teammates and more practice reps, Leinart could play well if he is needed in Week 12. ( RotoWire - Mon. Nov 23, 2009)
