News: Lawrence Timmons is uncertain to play in Sunday's home game against the Bengals while still dealing with an ankle injury, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. [+]
Impact: Timmons missed Monday night's win at Denver. He has been performing well this season, and chipped in three sacks and two forced fumbles. ( Fanball - Tue. Nov 10, 2009) |
News: Travis Kirschke is uncertain to play in Sunday's home game against Cincinnati while still recovering from a calf injury, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. [+]
Impact: Kirschke is a quality defensive end, but the Steelers' No. 1 ranked run defense should hold up fine if he is unable to go. He missed Monday night's game at Denver. ( Fanball - Tue. Nov 10, 2009) |
News: Updating an earlier item, fullback Carey Davis is expected to be unavailable for Week 10 after injuring his hamstring in the Steelers win over the Broncos on Monday night, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. [+]
Impact: Rashard Mendenhall ran wild without him anyway, so his absence shouldn't be a huge factor for the Steelers as they face off with the Bengals in a critical AFC North game. ( Fanball - Tue. Nov 10, 2009)

News: According to Rick Maese on Twitter, Redskins tight end Chris Cooley will still sport his protective boot for at least another week and a half. [+]
Impact: Cooley's best case scenario is to return to action by Week 12, but there's no telling what he'll look like on the field at that point. It also doesn't help that his ankle is recovering slowly. Fred Davis will continue to fill in at the team's top TE until Cooley returns. ( Fanball - Tue. Nov 10, 2009) |
News: Clinton Portis acknowledged on Tuesday that it might be tough for him to get into the Redskins lineup this weekend as deals with the aftermath of a concussion he suffered last Sunday, according to the Washington Post's Rick Maese. [+]
Impact: There's little sense in rushing Portis back from the second concussion of his football career, especially with Ladell Betts ready as a capable fill-in. Don't expect him to play against the Broncos on Sunday. ( Fanball - Tue. Nov 10, 2009) |
News: Brian Orakpo's 5.5 sacks this season are the most among NFL rookies, according to the Washington Times. [+]
Impact: Orakpo has been an isolated bright spot in an otherwise disastrous season for the Redskins. He is worth a flier in IDP leagues. ( Fanball - Tue. Nov 10, 2009)
