News: Chiefs inactives: QB Matt Gutierrez (3rd), LB Mike Vrabel, CB Donald Washington, RB Dantrell Savage, LB David Herron, LB Justin Rogers, OL Andy Alleman and TE Jake O'Connell. [+]
Impact: LB Andy Studebaker replaces Vrabel, who is out due to a knee injury. On offense, the Chiefs are healthy but have their work cut out for them facing a brutal Steelers defense. ( Fanball - Sun. Nov 22, 2009) |
News: The Kansas City Star reports that Andy Studebaker will make his first career start in Week 11 against the Steelers. [+]
Impact: Mike Vrabel has been officially ruled out, so the Chiefs needed someone to step up. Studebaker was signed off the practice squad on Wednesday and the former Eagles sixth-round pick will have a tough task in front of him on Sunday. ( Fanball - Sat. Nov 21, 2009) |
News: David Herron Jr. was limited in Friday's practice, and he is questionable for Sunday's game against Pittsburgh, according to the Chiefs' official website. He is dealing with a knee injury. [+]
Impact: Herron won't be missed in IDP leagues if unable to play, as he merely contributes on special teams coverage. ( Fanball - Fri. Nov 20, 2009)

Chiefs sink struggling 'Skins for first win of 2009 In the locker room, the quarterback presented the game ball to the rookie head coach, who was still wet from the celebratory sideline ice bath. The coach then gave the ball to Mr. Irrelevant, a player no longer worthy of his nickname.
The Kansas City Chiefs are winless no more. Neither is coach Todd Haley, who earned victory No. 1 with an assist from the last player taken in this year's draft. Ryan Succop kicked four field goals in Sunday's 14-6 win over the Washington Redskins, whose season is tanking toward oblivion because of losses to winless teams. Full Story

News: According to Adam Schefter on Twitter, Albert Haynesworth (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Week 11. [+]
Impact: Haynesworth was expected to play as early as yesterday, but the team now seems somewhat uncertain about his ankle injury. He hasn't practiced this week, but you can bet he'll go above and beyond to try and get on the field against the Cowboys. If he can't go, Kedric Golston would get the start, and that would certainly benefit Marion Barber and the Dallas running game. Check back before kickoff for an update on his status. ( Fanball - Sun. Nov 22, 2009) |
News: According to ESPN.com, Albert Haynesworth will play in Sunday's contest against the rival Cowboys. [+]
Impact: Haynesworth is dealing with an ankle injury, and although he holds a questionable tag right now, the coaching staff had deemed him ready to go. One expects that the menacing defender is doing everything he can do to get into this game so he can stick it to his former team. ( Fanball - Sat. Nov 21, 2009) |
News: Portis, who has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Dallas, was at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Friday to have his concussion evaluated, Associated Press reports. "We're going to make sure we take care of all the details. We're for Clinton getting well," coach Jim Zorn said. "Each day Clinton's done a great job of communicating how he's felt, and that's what it's going to take." [+]
Impact: It looks like the Redskins are wisely taking the cautious route here, so unless Portis gets some really good news Friday, he's looking iffy for next week. ( RotoWire - Fri. Nov 20, 2009)
