News: Antonio Cromartie has been charged with misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly throwing a champagne bottle at somebody's head in a San Diego bar late last month, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. [+]
Impact: It is not yet known how this will affect his future playing status. Unlike recent high-profile NFL indiscretions, such as Plaxico Burress' and Michael Vick's, Cromartie is only charged with a misdemeanor, and not a felony. That is good news for him. ( Fanball - Tue. Dec 1, 2009) |
News: Jammer had four tackles, one interception and forced one fumble Sunday against the Chiefs. [+]
Impact: It was a huge game for Jammer, who has quietly become one of the best cover corners in the league. ( RotoWire - Mon. Nov 30, 2009) |
News: Jackson had two receptions for 27 yards and one rush for 12 yards Sunday against the Chiefs. [+]
Impact: Jackson has been held in check for three straight games now as defenses have been paying a lot more attention to the standout receiver, but he remains a top option in San Diego. ( RotoWire - Mon. Nov 30, 2009)

Rivers' late TD pass takes Chargers over Giants Five years after being traded away in a draft-day swap for Eli Manning, Philip Rivers came back and stuck it to the New York Giants.
Rivers capped an 80-yard drive with an 18-yard pass to Vincent Jackson with 21 seconds to play and the San Diego Chargers stunned the Giants 21-20 on Sunday, posting their third straight win while handing New York its fourth straight loss.
San Diego (5-3) is now well positioned for the second half of the season. Full Story

News: Manning claims not to be bothered by his foot injury except insofar as he has to spend time in the training room, the Newark Star-Ledger reports. [+]
Impact: He should be fine for now, but any aggravation of the injury could very well be season-ending. ( RotoWire - Tue. Dec 1, 2009) |
News: The Giants may soon replace kicker Lawrence Tynes, according to Pro Football Talk. [+]
Impact: Tynes is 23-of-28 on field goal attempts this season, but has had some critical misses in recent weeks. Steve Hauschka and Graham Gano are believed to be trying out with the Giants on Tuesday. ( Fanball - Tue. Dec 1, 2009) |
News: The Giants placed Pierce (neck) on injured reserve Monday, the Associated Press reports. [+]
Impact: Pierce is officially done for the year, finishing his ninth season with 55 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble in nine games. Chase Blackburn and possibly Jonathan Goff will continue to start in his place. ( RotoWire - Mon. Nov 30, 2009)
