We're heading into Super Bowl week and while the Giants and Patriots don't have a traditional rivalry, New York and Boston definitely do. The G-Men's victory over New England in Super Bowl XLII was just one of many memorable sports moments between the two cities. Let's relive the 10 best.

This has to be the most memorable moment. Years of despair and frustration in Boston were let out in epic fashion in 2004. After going down 3-0 in the ALCS against the Yankees, the Red Sox staged the biggest comeback in baseball history by winning four games in a row. The last and sweetest victory came at Yankee Stadium and eventually led to Boston's first World Series crown in 86 years.

Bill Buckner's error in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series against the Mets is arguably the most memorable flub in baseball history. The ball going through his legs at first base allowed New York to score the winning run and take Game 7 the next night. Although Buckner wasn't really to blame for Boston's collapse in that game and eventually the series, he was unfairly castigated for decades by all of New England.

The day the Red Sox traded Babe Ruth to the Yankees on Dec. 26, 1919 was a seminal moment for both cities. Boston endured decades of suffering while New York began compiling World Series titles at an epic rate.

The Patriots' so-called perfect season never came to be. Thanks to some late-game heroics from Eli Manning, Plaxico Burress and the rest of the Giants, the Patriots were sent home with crushed souls and a 17-14 loss in 2008.

It happened again in 2003. Boone, who wasn't known for his power, sent the Yankees to the World Series when he crushed an 11th-inning homer in Game 7. The Boston curse lived on for just a little bit longer.

The light-hitting Yankees shortstop broke Boston hearts during a one-game playoff to decide the 1978 AL East crown. Dent cracked a three-run homer that gave New York the lead and the eventual win at Fenway Park. Just another traumatic moment for Red Sox Nation.

Who can forget this? It's Game 3 of the ALCS between the Red Sox and Yankees in 2003. What looks to be an argument devolves into fisticuffs when senior citizen and baseball legend Don Zimmer attacks Boston pitcher Pedro Martinez. The latter tosses Zimmer to the ground and causes quite the ruckus.

The Patriots were the AFC's top seed in the 2010 season, but that didn't matter to the Jets in the playoffs. Led by a dominating defensive effort, New York went into Foxborough and stunned what looked to be a Super Bowl-bound New England squad in the divisional round.

Mike Milbury is a hockey analyst now, but in 1979 he was a scrappy defenseman for the Boston Bruins. On Dec. 23 against the Rangers, a fan cut teammate Stan Jonathan's face with a program and grabbed his hockey stick. Well, what ensued was chaos. Milbury was among several Boston players who jumped into the stands, and he grabbed a man's shoe and beat him with it. Was that the first recorded assault with footwear?

The Knicks battled the Celtics several times during the season, but their Game 7 Eastern Conference Finals win over Boston in the Garden still lives on. The Celtics were the top seed that season, but were no match for Dave Debusschere and league MVP Willis Reed on that day. The Knicks went on to win the NBA title.
