If the Bills thought the 48 points that the Jets hung on them in Week 1 was a lot, wait until they see the potential of the explosive Kansas City offense. Last week, the Chiefs went punch for punch with the Falcons in the first half, but then sputtered out of control in the second. For the Bills to keep them in check, Mario Williams will need to force Matt Cassel off his spot in the pocket, something Williams couldn’t do in Week 1. The Bills totaled zero sacks, zero QB hits, and zero hurries. Pick: KC

Drew Brees is probably the best QB in the league when it comes to taking advantage of mismatches. He reads the defense quickly, and knows to trust his receivers in one-on-one situations, particularly Jimmy Graham (pictured). The Panthers simply don’t have an answer for him on defense. Cam Newton will keep the Panthers close, but in the end, they just don’t have enough firepower to keep up with a Saints’ offense that will be out to prove last week was a fluke. Pick: Saints

The Browns defense played well enough to win last week, but the Browns offense wasn’t even close. Now without Joe Haden, the defense is going to bend a little more, and if the rookie duo of Trent Richardson (pictured, 33) and Brandon Weeden (pictured, 3) lay another egg, it will be a long day for the Browns. But it will be last year’s sensational rookie tandem of Andy Dalton and A.J. Green that will shine on Sunday. Pick: Bengals

Last week, the Colts attempted just 45 passes to just 15 runs. If the strategy is the same against the Vikings, Jared Allen (pictured) needs to have an impact. Because of the weak secondary, the Vikings actually defend the pass with their rushers, and Allen accounted for no tackles, and therefore no sacks, in last week’s win over the Jaguars. I anticipate that the Vikings will move him around to try and find a way to get him involved, but in the end, Andrew Luck limits his turnovers and earns his first NFL win. Pick: Colts

After a decent preseason and fairly solid Week 1, Blaine Gabbert is showing signs of improvement -- but he hasn’t faced a defense quite like the Texans. Wade Phillips has his guys flying around the field and playing with relentless effort, and that starts with J.J. Watt (pictured). I haven’t seen a defensive lineman, let alone a 5-tech, impact a game the way Watt did last week in a very long time, if ever. He had 1.5 sacks and tipped two passes that were then intercepted. Pick: Texans

Carson Palmer completed 32 passes last week and 13 of them were to Darren McFadden (pictured), and he rushed the ball 15 times on top of that. It is clear that this offense will only go as far as McFadden takes it. On the other sideline, the Dolphins need to come up with a better scheme for Ryan Tannehill, one that involves him running the ball more than just twice like he did last week. He is an athlete first, and a pocket passer second, and the Dolphins need to take advantage of that. Pick: Raiders

I know it's just one game into the season, but the Patriots look to have a presence in the backfield that they haven’t had since Corey Dillon. This offense will forever run through Tom Brady, but if Stevan Ridley (pictured) can give them 100-plus yards on the ground like he did last week, this offense is going to be indefensible. Ridley should get closer to 30 carries this week, as I anticipate this being a blowout early. Pick: Pats

Greg Schiano (pictured) led the Bucs to their first win in the last 11 games, but they will be starting another losing streak come Sunday. The Giants will be quick to hush all the media that is suggesting this team has a Super Bowl hangover. Veteran leaders Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck and Victor Cruz all had tremendously disappointing outings last week but Tom Coughlin will have them ready to go on Sunday. Pick: Giants

Talk about extreme opposites: The Ravens looked like arguably the best team in the NFL in Week 1 while the Eagles were easily the most disappointing, albeit in a win. Michael Vick (pictured) threw four interceptions, and that number could have easily been six or seven. Facing an even better defense and having a banged-up Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson, the road is even rockier in Week 2 for Vick and the Eagles. This will be a good litmus test for the new-look Ravens offense. Joe Flacco should have a lot of pressure flying at him while throwing at two of the best cornerbacks in the league. Pick: Ravens

Is there a quarterback in the league that is more up and down than Tony Romo? One week he will come up and show the skills and discipline of a top-10 quarterback, then the next he will look like a lost puppy. Not only in this game, but the entire Cowboys’ season, the key will be consistent play from Romo (pictured). Seattle couldn’t even beat the Cardinals with two drive-sustaining pass interference calls and a fourth timeout, so I don’t expect much from the Seahawks against a solid Dallas team. Pick: Cowboys

Robert Griffin III had possibly the best rookie debut in NFL history, but the Rams showed last week that they aren’t willing to lay down for anyone. They annoyed and confused Matt Stafford to the tune of four interceptions and hung tough against a dynamic passing offense down to the last minute. But against RG3, they will spy a defender, which leaves them one less to either blitz or drop into coverage. RG3 should be in for another big day. Pick: Redskins

Mark Sanchez silenced his critics ... for a week. Let's face it, the Bills are hardly a daunting defense, but now the Jets travel to face Pittsburgh, a team that is ready to rebound from a loss in front of a national TV audience. Lucky for Sanchez, James Harrison will once again be held out due to injury, but the Steelers should have no problem getting into the Jets backfield with a variety of blitz packages. The return of Ryan Clark gives the secondary a boost in confidence, but Troy Polamalu missed Thursday’s practice and is questionable for Sunday’s game. Either way, I expect the Jets of the four preseason games rather than the surprising Week 1 Jets. Pick: Steelers

Chris Johnson (pictured), the man who once rushed for 2,000 yards in a season and averaged 5.0 yards per carry, ran for only four yards on 11 carries last week. Jake Locker is expecting to return after a shoulder separation, but for the Titans offense to run at full steam, there needs to be at least the threat of an explosive play from Johnson. For the Chargers, Philip Rivers is coming off a performance in which he completed 73 percent of his passes, but more importantly protected the football. If he refrains from throwing an interception, Rivers carries the Chargers to a 2-0 start. Pick: Chargers

Much will be made in regard to last year’s handshake, but the matchup itself is very exciting. The 49ers will have to hold up in a back-to-back week against one of the best offenses in the NFL, and with a letdown performance in Week 1 the Lions will be sure to come out firing. The 49ers that flirted with Peyton Manning in the offseason seem to be pretty content in the Alex Smith-led offense. Smith spread the ball around while completing 77 percent of his passes for 211 yards. That efficiency will outlast the physicality of the Lions’ defense. Pick: 49ers

In front of a national audience, Peyton Manning (left) proved he was healthy and physically capable of making every throw. I anticipate the Broncos to be in full no-huddle mode with Manning throwing out his vintage audibles and hand checks. On the other side, Matt Ryan (right) kicked off his fifth year in an impressive way. He and Julio Jones may prove to be the most explosive combination in the NFL, but it may be the running game that differentiates them in this game. Michael Turner’s power running style still has a place in this offense, and the Falconswill lean on him Monday night. Pick: Falcons
